I didn’t have a specific node in mind but sure that one works.

Comment

It’s possible that we could do that. We haven’t so far because it’s a little outside of the theming range for primalist. Acolyte has nodes like this and they tend to be a little less powerful because they account for all things which die.

Comment

Yea, if you’re relying on “on kill” effects in your build, it won’t work very well with a minion heavy approach. It doesn’t track your minion kills as your own.

I don’t know if we will make it available or not. The main reason it’s not possible at the moment is to avoid endless new characters to farm it. We didn’t have a ton of time near the end of the patch cycle to solve that problem and just making them not spawn with LP was the safe option.

I don’t want to get your hopes up on it because I really don’t know if we will or not. I don’t like to say anything is really set in stone.

We never intended to release the exact numbers for relative rarity of LP on a unique. It is generally based on level, some have had their chance shifted slightly to account for particularly powerful and well scaling attributes.

We don’t plan to release the formula for chance of obtaining LP on an item. It would output numbers that are not easily comprehended by almost everyone. (Tom Scott has a great video about understanding numbers like million and billion. We are talking about numbers way bigger, or well, smaller really.)

200 is a number that when placed in said formula, you always get 0 chance. Quest reward uniques are not able to drop with LP.

Finding super end game uniques with LP at all is going to be very rare. Possible but very rare. It’s difficult to look at an item system and not want to plan for BiS but I think that’s a big difference between ARPGs and MMORPGs, you can’t really get BiS in every slot in an ARPG while you are expected to strive for BiS...

Yup, you’re right, totally forgot about that, so I’ll update that post. It’s even less complicated, just clear speed vs level.

Comment

Given a unique item that is about to drop, so it’s on the way to the ground and it needs to figure out how much LP it has, the only thing that affects that is the zone level.

It’s a really simple system and I think that’s what’s tripping people up.

The only reason you would give up zone level is to make a significantly larger number of rolls by significantly increasing drop chance or clear speed. With Lagon clear speed might make a difference. If you can do runs in half the time, that’s double drops. However, empowered is a higher zone level, so the ones that do drop will on average be higher LP.

I feel like that’s as in depth as I can possibly get with it.

Comment

You have to ask which zone will drop more items and which zone is higher level.

Empowered version drops more items and is higher level.

Empowered is better.

Please don’t directly ping multiple staff in a post, especially 3 days before a patch unless it’s ultra urgent. (I deleted the pings to hopefully stop others from getting it)

I do, nothing like a good poisonado to clear out the sinuses.

Yea, we’ll be listening to feedback very closely as always. I expect that we will be tweeking numbers on it once we get into the patch.

If you leave the dungeon without using the cache, you don’t get to come back to it without doing the dungeon again. You can do the dungeon as many times as you want as long as you have keys for it. It’s not an overly lengthy process so really and you’ll get other things from the dungeon too.

We are seeing a lot of concerns about this. getting a high power unique with 4 exalted affixes on it is almost impossible. While the top end potential is way higher, it’s not realistic to even talk about. We had similar concerns raised about T28 exalteds. I’ve still never seen a real one and don’t expect to any time soon.

It’s won’t let you. I’ll add this to the FAQ.

Come and find out

Really depends on how much you are playing. If you’re playing every day, I’d expect that you would have full Legendaries. If you just play a bit here and there near the start, probably only a couple and you could probably make arguments for straight exalteds or other uniques being better in some cases.

Comment

Technically no but that’s because it isn’t a problem because you already can. You don’t have to match the exact base type, only the slot it goes in. So, you can use any exalted body armor and any unique body armor. They don’t need to be the exact same body armor sub type.
