September? The neediest month. Or at least this one was, demanding we lavish two content updates upon it as well as a full Adventure and a Community Day. So that's what we did, and if we spend any more time here introducing everything that happened we won't have time to fulfil all our plans for October, so headlong into the round-up we go! Sit down! Following a resolution of the issue with ship cosmetics not saving between sessions, we're rolling out compensation to those players who were affected.

This will arrive as an amount of gold in relation to the number of failed save attempts, plus a Gilded Voyage of Restitution.

Please allow up to 72 hours for the compensation to be applied.

Deep below the surface of the Sea of Thieves, the coral-crusted Sunken Kingdom has always been a place of mystery and wonder – not to mention great dangers. September’s time-limited Adventure, ‘The Sirens’ Prize’, will challenge players to navigate its undersea labyrinths and treacherous shipwreck spires in search of stolen treasures.

The object of your quest: three Ancient artefacts required for a mysterious ritual that will empower the Pirate Lord’s allies to stand their ground in the face of an upcoming resurrection. These relics were claimed by the Sirens as trophies long ago, and will be jealously guarded against any intruders from the surface world. The cannons have silenced, the portals have closed and the Veil of the Ancients has once again been hidden away. The team have now mitigated earlier problems that were causing a disruption to Sea of Thieves services. Players should now be able to set sail as usual, but we will continue to monitor player experience. Thanks for your patience.

We are continuing to investigate reports of cosmetic loadouts not consistently saving to Captained ships. We advise that players do not attempt to save their cosmetics for now, and will provide further updates as we make progress towards resolving this.

Pirates! The servers are back online and the sword block should once again work as intended. Thank you for your patience.



The Sea of Thieves servers are now offline for essential maintenance so that we can roll out a necessary hotfix, designed to ensure the sword block works as expected in combat encounters. We'll let you know as soon as you can return to the seas.



The Sea of Thieves servers will be offline from 14:00pm UTC.

After reports last week of the sword block no longer working as intended in combat encounters, the team have identified a fix and we will be rolling it out today.

The below changes to our current Adventure, 'A Hunter's Cry', are now live in the game. Happy Adventuring!



After reviewing your feedback, we’re making a number of changes to our current Adventure, ‘A Hunter’s Cry’, to ensure a more consistently welcoming environment for players. Most notably, from 2pm UTC today, each trip into the Sea of the Damned will involve two crews at most.
