Did they not nerf the Triple Take, with it coming back to ground loot? Also, I assume it uses Energy ammo again? In that case, how much does it consume per shot?

Looks like we missed that in the patch notes.

Triple Take - now an energy consuming marksman

  • Charge time from 0.8 -> 1.1 (pre-crate value)
  • Mag increase at all tiers (Base: 18, White: 21, Blue: 24, Purple: 27)
  • Ammo consumed per shot increased to 3
  • Ammo required per shot increased to 3

Great vid! I was in a weapons meeting recently and we discussed a lot of these ideas. I ultimately came to the conclusion that as long as it has a one shot crit, we can change hipfire, ammo, body shot damage, etc. and pros will still have an issue with it. And that's not a bad thing... I understand why. There's a give and take when it comes to RNG in a "competitive battle royale." Some might say that's a bit of an oxymoron, but RNG in some capacity is an integral part of any BR. That balance is part of the secret sauce that makes Apex what it is.

Ultimately we (the weapons team) concluded we're happy with the Kraber from a design perspective, and don't feel the need to change it really at this point. We're deferring the decision on whether or to remove the Kraber from comp to CGE, where they can better evaluate pros and cons from a viewer & player perspective.

Maaaan I’m just happy when the first words out of a teammate’s mouth aren’t, “yo can I get an heirloom?”

That’s easily the number one thing people say when they recognize I’m a dev. Gg chopsticks

Prowler nerf is good(burst from 75 -> 70), three burst damage from 225 > 210 means it can no longer three burst anyone in the game without landing a couple headshots in there as well. Doesn't make a diff vs purple or less targets if you're a controller player, but will make a big difference for mouse aimers who don't always hit all 5 bullets in each burst

L-Star nerf won't matter in most fights as you should be ads/un-ads spamming for accurate hipfire in cqc, but if you catch someone hardscoping it'll be easier to punish them in midrange.

A bit concerning they are waiting so long on nerfing Seer. Their balance team is always slow but it kind of feels like they're intentionally dragging their feet. Probably waiting until all the new warzone players have spent a bit more $$ on Seer before dropping the nerfs.

Damn dude, I wish I had the capacity for that supervillain type plan. That would be DEVIOUS.

Nah but the biggest reason for the wait is that some of the Seer stuff requires a client patch. Any update to the client takes a while to submit changes, verify, integrate, build, cert submit, etc.

Playlist patches (which have the capacity to tweak numbers, disable items, etc.) have a much much quicker turnaround. Thought about playlist patching for Seer today, but figure it's best to wait a bit for the full package.

That’s what I’m here for. If Rampage or Seer are busted out the gate, we adjust quickly with a hotfix. If they’re strong but we’re not sure where they fall in the meta, we generally wait till a later patch to let things develop

And thanks, the challenge of using a defensive character offensively to surprise people has been so fun for me. I have a notepad of like 30+ Rampart techs that I've been learning and I just added one yesterday. It's awesome and I can't wait to see what's in store for her.

It's no secret among my friends I dislike LMGs which puts me in blasphemous territory as a Rampart main LOL Having a weapon-locked passive is rough!

Now I'd be doing my fellow Ramparts a disservice if I didn't mention there's been a weird delay added in her abilities since the last patch! Like ~1s delay to being able to place Sheila and some weird animation stuff with walls. Also grenades/arcs do seemingly random amounts of damage to her walls. I can't consistently block grenades with a wall placement anymore. This is all since last patch and I just wanted to throw it out there in case it hasn't been noticed...

You’re positive that stuff only started happening last patch? Any clips of you reproducing the bugginess would be appreciated

I think people are sleeping on Rampart a bit at the moment. Your game sense and mechanics coupled with her kit is niiicccee

Finally someone gets it. When u/DanielZKlein talks about Wattson’s invisible power, he was just alluding to the fact that you couldn’t see enough Nessies around the map

Also, OP should've gone for a better title instead of shitting on preds. If you put in something about ddos or damage farming, that would've increased the visibility.

Hopefully the devs can still see it tho....

Forwarding on to the team. Clips like this always help

We look at histograms showing percentage of matches played on any given legend for different skill buckets. Wattson's doesn't skew in any unusual way towards higher-skill levels. What is significant is that her win rate is significantly higher alongside Lifeline's in the bottom 90% of players. She's still hovers at the top amongst the best 5% of players, but is not an outlier. This could mean her kit isn't doing her many favors at the level where people hit their shots, and that her invisible power is very much in her size + no LP for the vast majority of skill buckets. There are obviously many more confounding variables that y'all have pointed out (playstyles, solo queue vs. pre-mades, ranked vs. casuals), but the point is, there's no balancing bible for Apex. As DZK has mentioned, the paramount goal is to create a fun game. It's not as simple as inferring actions based solely on aggregate data, but it's definitely an essential tool in a game of such scale.

I post Twitter threads more actively than I post here (although I'm always lurking everywhere). Seeing as Wattson's been a hot topic these first couple weeks of Legacy, figured I could link to some additional comments I made on a u/DanielZKlein thread with some more context.

Also, fix for Wattson fences coming Monday. Sorry bout that and thanks for your patience! W...

Also do I need to give you the usernames of the exploiters or let them go? I wasn’t able to report them to Respawn because I’m on Xbox and only went to Microsoft. However I don’t think anything would happen to them.

If you want you can DM the names to me and I can send them to Hideouts to pass judgement
