Nice, I really love Rell as a concept! Tho gameplay is kind of really weird. Are you planning on releasing a poke support champ?
What do u mean poke support? Like a ranged Support?

Rell is a Champion we talk about as a possible target for a midscope update, similar to what we have recently done with Swain/Olaf/Taliyah. We think we could potentially smooth out some of the issues brought up in this thread with a update like that. We haven't started work on one yet, but she is a Champion we feel is fairly high priority.
Hey Reav3, sorry for asking but did something happened with the ahri asu or everything is going good in dev?
The Personalization team works on ASUs, and I don't comment on other teams work, which is why I didn't mention it in the roadmap
Do you collaborate with the LoR team? Their design and story & world building is phenomenal. They released Udyr and I am wondering if there was coordination between the two. I think they also depicted ASol perfectly. Other than balancing issues, when he enters the battlefield he completely feels dominating. He has the presence he deserves and his followers also depict his essence.
Yes we did actually! Since we knew LoL Udyr would come after LoR we coordinated to make the stories connect and progress his lore. Basically the Udyr in LoR is shortly after he got back from Ionia so it's like in-between Spirit Guard Udyr and LoL Udyr VGU. Then the Udyr VGU we are working on is after he went into the wilderness to train for a few years and now is more rugged and shed more of his Ionian stuff
Can you reveal if the botlaner its an adc or a support? i still have the Senna traumas (im an adc main)
Its a damage carry
hi u/Reav3! i was just wondering if "A Whole New World" was inspired by SOPHIE at all! its the first thing i thought when i saw it lol
It was a Aladdin Reference actually
Hey Reav3 could you maybe confirm what you said last year about Riot making a shift away from only human champs? And maybe say if there will still be a creature this year and humanoid(s)?
Yes, we still plan on doing less pure humans going forward. We will still make humans, of course, but just less then before where we were mainly only making humans
Will Spirit Guard Udyr get a new splash art?
yes
Who would you say is the closest to fulfilling that fantasy now? As an ARAM only player I find Ornn to be super difficult to play with a decent amount of room for outplays (that recent clip of Ornn using R2 to dodge Yone ult comes to mind).
Probably Ornn, yeah. Most of our tanks or low skill/complexity, with Ornn being more like a Medium Skill/Complexity Champ
So what I'm getting is it will be a full gameplay rework with animation updates to align with the new abilities, but that's the closest thing to any physical change and he will still be our little sarcastic space puppy
Correct, his VO isn't changing
Can you tell us a bit about the differences of the original teaser image for the non-trad botlaner vs the setting we got this time around?
Did thematics/plans perhaps shift or are both the teasers relevant to each other?
I’m only asking this because the original image doesn’t necessarily carry any bilgewater thematics in it!
Well I did say the Champion isn't originally from Bilge, they just live their now. Both are still relevant
Hi Reav3, I was wondering if we can expect some Ixtal content in the near future? Making a water bender-like champion that is hinted to be from Ionia and exploring a whole new subregion in Shurima feels weird when both seem to be good fits for Ixtal :/
Ixtal is somewhere we reall want to revisit soon, so it shouldnt be much longer until we get another Ixtalian Champ out into the world
I know you won't leak anything but I gotta ask, is Oyster Bill a real shop or just some fluff you guys came up for the Roadmap, he's too pure
Its real, and the new Champ lives in a apartment above his restaurant
The biggest W of this Roadmap is the mention of high skill. Need more champions like that. Thank you <3
Yeah so we looked at our tank roster and realized we didn't have like a Aphelios/Azir/Yasuo of top lane tanks. They were are medium to low skill/complexity. The goal with this champ was to add a high skill/high complexity tank to the roster finally. Something that players that like that kind of stuff can really sink their teeth in and master over 100s of games
From the way it is phrased in the article it sounds like the Gameplay Update part of the VGU is done and it is only the visual (and audio?) update to the skins that is left?
Am I reading that correct or am I misunderstanding?
Either way really hyped for the Udyr rework!
Correct Base Udyr is done at this point and we are only working on skins development. The ultimate skin still has a bit to go though so don't expect Udyr until later this summer at the earliest (Sometime after the bot laner)
Funny that the first VGU with an Ultimate skin is for a champ without a defined Ultimate.
lol
So what about Ahri's ASU? You guys need to pump ASUs faster with the huge amount of champions needing them...
Champs team doesnt work on ASUs, the personalization team does
Will BravoRay still be working on Skarner, because I saw that he became League's art director
Yes, he also was the artist for the void jungler. He still likes to work on a project every once is awhile because he loves it so much
May I ask who is working on this joyous lover of oysters? the tease gives real ff14 susano vibes.
Squad5, Sojyoo and CarnivalKnights
Oh no worries! I'm a big fan of when devs choose to take their time to get something right
Thanks! We especially want to make sure the ultimate "feels" like a ultimate skin, because right now it feels closer to a legendary.
