Didn’t ask the question, but I’d love an answer to that 👌🏽

So a couple years ago we looked at the overall diversity of our roster, and one of the things it showed was that we had like 60% male champs and 40% female champs, or something close to that. We feel long-term it's probably better to have something like 50/50 male and female champs, so we have been adding a bit more female champs then male champs on average, for the last few year. This is something we will likely continue until we are closer to 50/50 on the roster.

I’m not sure I understand the question. Are u asking why we have been making more female champions then male champions recently?

Chengwei Pan is doing the splash.

no, next is the bot laner, then after that is Udyr, but he's close. Bel'Veth, the Bot laner and Udyr are all pretty close together so their wont be a huge wait in between them

Yes it will be sometime in between Udyr and the Tank. That's all I will say for now

Hey Reav3, was Bel'Veth ever going to have like a mind control ability, since I've been curious ever since your possession at season start

Nope. I was more trying to do like a Malzahar "Prophet of the Void" type thing to tie into the Malzahar short story we shipped around that time as well

Thier won't be another Udyr Devblog before his announce, no.

Having playtested Bel’Veth a lot over the last 6 months I will say that slapping the ever living sh*t out of the entire enemy team as the Empress of the Void is one of ,if not the most satisfying things in League of Legends

Hopefully you are not going to excuse them as humanoid champion and trick us to believe we are getting more Aatrox instead of catboys and catgirls.

No, I said we were going to be making more monstrous humans like Aatrox, Renekton and Nasus, rather then primarily making humans and humanoids like we were the last few years. We also are planning more monsters/creatures for the future. I separate the 2 since things like Yuumi would be considered a creature without being a monster. We still think the whimsical/light hearted creature space is something we don’t have much of in LoL and are excited to add more to that space as well.

This doesn’t mean we arnt going to make anymore humans and humanoids though, it just means we want to add more overall diversity to our releases. Also, to be clear, the monster we have in development right now is NOT the cute or whimsical kind

TwinEnso, Lonewingy, and JohnODyin

Humanoid would be something like Ahri/Sett/Xayah

Kinda weird she doesn't count as Monster champ since thé human form isn't That significant

I think she does count as a monster champ, she just rides the line a bit between a pure monster (like Rek’Sai or Cho’gath) and a monstrous champ like Nasus/Renekton. She’s not firmly in either. People are misinterpreting what I said. I didn’t say BV isn’t a monster champ I just said she isn’t the monster champ I was talking about when said we were planning on a pure monster champ in the future

Not dramatically, but we do see bumps in engagement from them

Call me dumb boss /u/Reav3, but I don't see a problem with Rell. I just feel her defensive stat 'stealing' mechanic could use a bit more umph. I love the champ truly. She is exactly what a tank should be, tons of CC with minimal damage.

I personally think we missed the mark on her fantasy. When we were in early development she was a really interesting a cool champion. When she was on her horse she was like REALLY fast, and then she was really slow when on the ground. As we started to balance the champ much later in development we found that her speed in her horse form would cause her optimal play to constantly leave her lane partner behind and just roam the whole game. It ended up being a pretty unhealthy play pattern so we had to nerf her horse movement speed to the point that her unique gameplay identity kind of disappeared. Now she is just regular speed on the horse and super slow armored, so she doesn't really get the super fast horse rider power fantasy tradeoff for being slow the other half of the time.

I think we probably need to re look at her and see if we can push her power elsewhere (not in roaming power) in a way that could give her a more unique identity and separate her from Leona more. Id...

No, ASUs are chosen and handles by PIE (The Personalization team) I don't speak for other teams so you would have to talk to someone from that team if you want details on how they choose
