so heres the explanation of this. So the black mist corrupts people and makes them look altered and monstrous. Viego controls the black mist though, it doesn't control him, so he hasnt been corrupted by it at all like other SI champs
With six new champs coming this year, will they be bunched together like Lillia, Yone, Samira, Seraphine and Rell or spaced out evenly every two months?
We dont release champs until we feel they are ready, we will try to space them out as best we can, but sometimes that doesnt always work well

Hey, Reav3. Love your work. Just curious though, if the plan is to give a new champ for each lane every year, I'm confused where the non-traditional Marksman fits in. Does this mean the Marksman is not actually the new ADC, or it is a new ADC but it's being built around another lane but will be viable bot?

hey all, so here's the update on the champ i mentioned 3 months ago. We started super early work on it, then we had a designer move to a RnD team so we had to put it on hold until we got another designer onto Champs team. Since it wasn't that far along anyway we thought it would be best to just put the Vote VGU ahead of it, we still want to get a 2nd non vote VGU going in the future, but it will be a VGU that will release after the VGU vote winner now.
Could you tell us who is designing each of the champ's kits like you did last year with Samira, Seraphine, Rell, etc?
The Top laner is being designed by Stashu, the deisgner on the mage is Lutz and the Sentinel is RiotJag

Wow what interesting but dangerous idea. Love it, thanks for sharing. Like that level of problem solving is what LoL needs to go another 10 years. Obviously not every radical change is good, they can sometimes be change for the sake of change.
But You know what would spice up the jg again? Those smite buffs we had on camps. I feel they add much needed strategy back into the jungle and rewarded invading. I digress though.
What are the main goals for new champions coming to 2021. I love that the team is dedicated to releasing 6 a year. I think that's healthy. Really hoping you can change the cadence to release more monster champs. I know it's a tired topic but it would really bring back that fantasy aspect that League had. Tone down the anime feel. I know the art direction of LoL has changed but in the end I think a high level fantasy is what it should stay.
Ill be going over the goals for 2021 in the Champion Roadmap that will come out early January.
You know what's funny? Even as an outsider I just feel he's jut so inspiring to work with. I am sure he improved everyone around him and I feel besides champions, he could've done some major damage in the item update this pre-season. I am also sad he left but hopefully he can return.

We actually had Brad working on Pre-Season stuff once for the Assassins update. For along time we were testing what we called "Base Guards" and they were these woodland Satyr like creatures that would spawn from your base and patrol your jungles (2 base guards for each team that would each patrol one quadrant of your jungle) They were allies to your team but would attack on site any enemies that walked into your jungle, but would give your whole team gold if u killed them. They did very high damage but were susceptible to burst. His theory was that to make Assassins as a class less 1 dimensional and more useful to their team, adding a objective to the map that was tailored towards Assassins that Assassins could do to contribute to their team would make the class more viable in high level play (since Assassins often struggle in high level play) They were really interesting but we ultimately cut them. Later Brad would go on to make a Assassin that has been viable in proplay since he...

Who knows. I for one would welcome him back in a heartbeat and I was very sad when he left Champions team. Of course I selfishly wanted to keep Brad on the team forever, but I think it makes sense for him to go work on other projects that could potentially have a bigger impact then just a Champion release. He is simply on the the best designers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. In my close to 15 years in the industry (damn I am getting old) their are only 2 designers I can think of that had a massive impact on my career, one being Eric Williams from the 7 years I worked on the God of War games and CertainlyT here at Riot. He not only made incredible champ designs, he pushed me to be a better producer, and product manager just through working with him everyday he was here on Champions Team. But you know, August left Champs team and came back eventually so maybe Brad will be back someday as well

Morgana, and in some ways Senna (though she is a Marksmen she does play like a enchanter a bit)
Do you also expect her to be a popular or niche champ
It's hard to say where she will exactly land, but we think she will be a popular tank support in comparison to other tank supports. Tank supports tend to be pretty niche in general outside of Leona whos pretty popular. She's a bit harder to play then Leona so I'm not sure if she will be as broad as Leona but my guess is she will be a bit less broad then Leona but more deep.

I personally don't see a limit either, though this isn't a 100% agreed upon thing at Riot. Regardless we don't think we have reached any hypothetical limit, and likely wouldn't anytime soon
Could you also possibly share some of her temp stuff in dev like her codename or placeholder model
For along time she was a recolored lunar eclipse Leona in non mount form and then would change into High Noon Ashe rising on her horse in mounted form (her homeguard run) Her title before she was Rell was just DarkSupport
I guess that even though he is a support now, he was thought as a toplaner.
