Hey legends!

We previously noted via a comment to the support megathread that we're investigating into the RP issues.

We've been working behind the scenes to roll out some fixes to Ranked:

  • You will no longer be inaccurately demoted. (Fixed over the weekend)
  • We're still working on a visual bug showing inaccurate RP loss. Players who face this bug might see either an inaccurate or massive negative RP deduction number. If the player ...

Head up: we are investigating into the RP issues.

Tracked in the Apex Tracker Trello board here: https://trello.com/b/ZVrHV38P/apex-tracker

Hey legends! We're ecstatic about your love for TDM following Revelry's launch. We've also heard your early feedback, and are making some changes.

We realized having three rounds made matches feel too long. Starting now, matches will be just one round. With the removal of multiple rounds, we've also increased the kill count required to win games from 30 to 50.

As a note, the UI will be inaccurate until updated to reflect this change at a later date.

Some quality of life improvements that are still to come:

- Ending the match when one team completely leaves so remaining team wins

- Adding in a penalty for abandoning matches similar to the penalty in Control

We'll Tweet any news we have via: ...

Hey Legends!

With the launch of Revelry, our team working on the DX12 beta has some updates to share with the community. We’ve done some bug fixes, but also identified some issues as we learn from our beta. Keeping in mind that DX12 is still heavily being tested (internally and through the community!), here are some updates from our dev team on DX12 support on PC.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed missing error popup on launch for unsupported hardware
  • Fixed “Processing and Compiling Shaders” stats reporting on the title screen. In DX12, compiling shaders is quite different from DX11 and the information should now encapsulate the actual work being done under the hood. For those curious what all the stats are, if it says “Processing and Compiling Shaders 5854 / 10007. (8:37.1), that means:
    • You have compiled 5854 shaders
    • We estimate there are 10007 total shaders to compile
    • You are using 8 threads on your CPU to do th...

For folks who are having the issue of crashing upon startup on DX12, please try the workaround mentioned here. If you still have the issue after this, please let us know what graphics card you're using!

Alternatively, you can launch the game in DX11, change "V-sync" in the Video settings to any mode, close the game, then open again in DX12 and that should solve the issue! If not, once again, please let us know your graphics card down below.

It looks off in the original post and people are probably just going to copy/paste it.

Edit: This is an old.reddit issue, it's supposed to be -eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json

Thank you for the note!!

In game, you should see UI text in bottom right corner of the lobby saying "DirectX 12 (Beta)".

In your task manager too, you should see that the game will be called r5apex_dx12.exe instead of r5apex.exe when you right-click Apex Legends and click "Properties" :)

A reminder that you won't be able to do this test until the new update launches tomorrow!

Hello legends! With Season 15, we are introducing an opt-in beta feature: support for DirectX 12 on PC.

We need your help to gather data and feedback for our initial DX12 implementation. You may not see a difference yet, but we wanted to get it in your hands to try as many different hardware, software and streaming configurations as we can before rolling out to the whole community.

Though this initial beta release may not have noticeable changes for most players, it's an important step that lays the groundwork for future improvements.

Without further ado, here’s some notes from our dev team on what you can expect!

What is DirectX 12

DirectX (DX) is the API we use to communicate between your computer’s main processor (the CPU) and its graphics processor (the GPU), which makes it a key part of the graphics rendering system. Apex Legends has been using DX11 since launch, and this new evolution to an updated ...

Hello r/ApexLegends! With the release of our Beast of Prey update, we’re excited to do TWO Apex AMAs with you all on September 20th and 21st respectively!

Make sure you login to your game to check out the latest event, rewards, and of course, the new LTM: Gun Run.

Hey everyone! Our dev blog on the Iron Sight changes for the Heat Sink skin went out earlier today.

Below you'll find more context on the decisions behind that change. It’s a delicate case, and we’d love to offer even more of a peek behind the curtain!

Changes to Heat Sink Iron Sights

Upon analyzing our options and finally making the decision to adjust the Heat Sink reactive skin for the Flatline, we knew this would be a contentious change. We hope to provide a little more insight to that thought process. This decision was actually more difficult compared to the seemingly obvious "make em all better" one.

If you haven’t already, please read ...

Hey everyone! We'd like to offer some insights on the earlier bug that resulted in players above level 500 not correctly receiving level up rewards following the launch of Hunted. The issue is now resolved.

Below you'll find more info on what our Live Team did to resolve the bug. We hope this provides more insight on processes in place and why sometimes these instances can take time to fix. Happy reading!

The Cause:

We have many different systems in our game that keep track of players levels, rewards, and overall progress in the game. In a normal situation, all these systems talk to each other and work in tandem, but when updating our level cap, some of these systems started to get mismatched. As a result, players would be able ...

Zoning in on one problem here:

Not receiving packs after levelling up past level 500.

As we tweeted, we're still looking into this. But I'd love your help in getting more profiles we can look into. Specifically for 2 scenarios.

Scenario 1: You did not get your Apex pack upon levelling to 502 (the first time you'll get your first pack after the level cap increase), and then subsequently every 10 levels after (within the levels of 500-600—the frequency of packs varies as you progress into each 100 level bracket). BUT you later found that you did get the packs. It's just that it came late.

Scenario 2: You did not get your Apex pack upon levelling to 502, and then subsequently every 10 levels after. AND you still did not get your packs.

Please let me kn...

None of this makes sense... especially when this was one of the foundations of the latest update and has been in the works for literal years, and yet you couldn't even release this working....

How many levels you'll need to obtain a pack reward varies.

It's 1 pack every 10 levels starting between the levels of 500 - 600 (with your first pack coming in at level 502). But between 600-700, you get it a bit more frequently (roughly 1 pack every 8 levels). Between 700-800, it's 1 pack for every 6 levels.... etc!

There are some 100 level ranges where you get it more often, and some where you get it less often!
