Is that we feel you guys are doing more and more each day to squeeze more money out of that top%. Loot roll out calendars not being easy to see, sometimes you guys do release prestige skins on the days you say and sometimes you don't, leaving us rerolling permanents and other thing. It kind of feels like you are limiting what people at the upper end can get despite us being the biggest supporters of your game. It's discouraging when you spend *that much money* on a company only to see them change systems out of your favor without any real beneficial incentives like an orange essence shop. And utilizing a gacha s...

That is definitely not our intent - to frustrate the biggest supporters of the game. I agree on the orange essence issue. Thanks for your feedback I appreciate it.

Prestige skins were better when they didn’t come to the shop. Granted, you still had to buy the pass and then play X amount of time.

Icons are the only thing that have “rare” status since so many can no longer be obtained.

Having to beat Odyssey with 2 augments for the final icon means you had to invest time into the game and earn it before the mode left.

The difference in “rare” items in games like MMOs are that they have rare drop chances, but you can keep spamming the dungeon/boss until you get the drop. Whereas this is just gacha, where you swipe until you get it.

Why not release skins for champs for X amount of mastery points?

Why is a $200 a chroma? If you’re trying to make a piece of content the most rare in the game, it better be epic. At least with TFT the Mythic Boards and Mythic Chibis add an entirely new element to the game.

I hear you - that is true for many many players. The majority of League players don't spend at all and earn many skins for free. Icons being the only 'rare' thing is part of the issue, for players who are looking for something rare there are no options other than through play (which again is great for most players) which was the feedback we're responding to.

Hey Brightmoon, I want to be candid and talk about this in good faith. We get it, Riot is a company and needs to make money, but this still feels like the wrong approach for creating rare premium content. The effort to pricing here quite frankly does not feel worth it, the current system does not feel prestigious since it’s gated by both time and money, money being the only way to acquire this content for up until a year feels atrocious. Having alternative paths to this content would at least make it feel better.

hey Spideraxe, There are players that aren't interested in earning skins only through engagement, which has become more and more clear to us the more surveys and player outreach we do. Now maybe this isn't the way, which is why we're trying it with a mythic variant of a skin that is already available, but having alternate paths defeats the rarity goal for those players.

Hello Brightmoon, I appreciate being transparent and taking your time to discuss this with the community.

I have 3 questions that I hope we get clarifications on.

  1. If this monetization method didn't flurish or meet internal expectations, what will be the next method?

  2. Aside from Jhin's skin, are there any planned skins rn or is it just this skin in the meantime?

  3. Have you discussed any different method before landing on this?

I know some of these questions might sound "intrusive", but I'm trying to get a better picture of the whole thing here.

Again, I appreciate taking your time to address this.

Sure thing, 1. There isn't a next method planned, it would depend on what worked / didn't work about this offering that would inform what we do next. 2. Nothing I can share now, we're just looking at results for this skin. 3. Yes we have discussed many potential options to better serving players who are seeking rarity, but the feedback that Prestige wasn't cutting it for those players is something we've heard more this year so explorations are still early.

We think that will make it less rare, initially, which will make it less appealing for those who are seeking rarity.

Hey everyone, we know many of you aren't happy with Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin. I want to clarify up front that we aren't going to change the skin or its rollout plan, but I want to explain why and provide information on why this is something we’re doing at all.

We want to offer a range of products for everyone, starting at the low end of free or a few dollars, scaling to more premium content for more. Right now, Prestige skins are the highest end of that spectrum. However, we’ve been getting feedback that they don't fully satisfy those of you who want something more rare.

This feedback makes sense. When we originally released Prestige, we got feedback that lots of players were excited for Prestige skins, not just the folks wanting rare or exclusive content. So, we made them easier to get by doing things like adding the end of year Prestige shop, putting Prestige Points in event pass milestone missions, and adding the Prestige Point cashout bundle to events. When we ...

Should we bring back AMA's? They sort of faded away because we focused on doing the insights article for champions and dev blogs for features which can get localized into all languages for all regions. But it's not much of a conversation. Reddit AMA's are very NA-centric. Doesn't mean we can't do them, we just want to make sure they're actually worth it.

Some of the reasons already mentioned are perhaps why some Rioters don't respond much on Reddit, but also, this community is very active and often yall respond to each other with answers that we might. In addition the conversation here can move on VERY quickly, where unless we comment super fast things get buried. It's also not a great format for debate or go back-and-forth so it tends to be a one response kind of thing.

But trust we're here and read and appreciate your feedback. Except about Yuumi those posts we just filter out /s

We should be able to update you all on this in the next few weeks! The team has just finished a lot of under the hood changes that will make the Essence Emporium more stable & less hand-coded for each one

2 bots at the top, 2 in the bot, and one in the mid.

When new players go to ranked games or normal games they discover that magically there is another role within the League of Legends which is: jungler.

It is no wonder that it is one of the role that players lack the most, they are not taught to play in the jungle at the moment they enter on League of Legends. I've been talking about this for years, I hope you guys finally address this problem with a solution. And present the real game of League of Legends as soon as possible to all players who need to play vs bots first.

Games against bots should be like a regular ranked...

We should’ve been more communicative on the Clash issues. Normally when we have bugs in Clash we triage and then try to let folks know how long it will be delayed. But the bugs the past two weeks have been issues we’ve never encountered before and that resulted in less info and understanding. We’re still digging into the issues today and will provide more info before next Clash on what we’ve done to avoid these issues in the future. Your time, nights and weekends are very important and we want you to feel good about planning to play League in the most competitive mode.

Jumping in to help give some more context. Also jumping in because I go Mega Gnar when folks say the skins team is lazy (they aren't) or that they don't care (they do) which I see coming up in this thread. When we created Xayah and Rakan (I was part of the team) we wanted to try a lot of new things - a shared recall animation being one of them. It took a lot of work, blending animations from two champs that could come together at any point during either recall. We also didn't really know if players would care or use it that much, but because of their theme it was worth it to try something new. Many years later it's clear that only a very small fraction of players use the joint recall with the same skin when Xayah and Rakan are on the same team, so we default to the base shared animation. When we look at how long it takes to add this special animation for how little use it gets, we are forced with a hard trade off. Continue doing it, or put the effort into something that will ...

We've tried a few iterations of gameplay changes for Teemo but they haven't met the bar for change vs. improvement. There's still potential though if we can find something that is a clear improvement

The playerbase are real people who understand that the world can be a tough place right now, and that is transpires into things like as quality of cinematic productions. It's frankly more insulting that they even had the slightest hunch that it would be received well, hence why they released it.

We absolutely should have. I pushed for us to make something when it became clear we wouldn't have a cinematic. Brink of Infinity wasn't meant to be a replacement for the CG but it certainly felt that way and taught me to never bring a blueberry muffin to a birthday if everyone is expecting I'm going to bring a birthday cake

We tried to cover as much as we could in a short amount of time (I already think 8 min is a long ask) so while we didn't cover everything we will continue to have updates on more parts of the game in the coming weeks and months

Just posted an update to Twitter, it's still going to be localized but we filmed it quickly and wanted to get it out ASAP
