my ping went from 50ms to 180ms after the update and hasnt gone back, i just need the ip address to reroute the connection from my isp

Hey I just wanna bump this - my friend with the same provider and same location said his ping is also like 15-20 higher.
Yes it is higher. The problem is you are in the middle between Chicago and Ashburn and routing appears to have changed. We will look at it next week and see if anything can be done to improve this. VPNs will override this routing if you can't wait.
Hey I really don't know where to ask this, but has anyone else mentioned anything about having like 20-30 higher ping on NA since yesterday? I went from 30 to 55 ping and it's actually such a pain, everything else on my end seems fine so for whatever reason my connection to League is just strictly worse or something :(

Does using a VPN to NA fix it? Try a trial one. If this does fix it, there is some sort of filtering between the server location and your ISP.
EU East is based in Frankfurt, Germany. It'll still be a bit closer to be in NA servers.
I think the best way to test this would be to make a new account in EUNE and a new account in NA and see which is better ping.
Most of the ISPs in Alaska connect back to the US, not direct to Europe. You're probably best off on NA.
u/DelBringo is this related to the network changes you're rolling out as you mentioned here? if so, could you share more details about it? I'm curious, cause my ISP's routing (or Riot's?) can vary from game to game, causing me to have a stable 37ms ping in the worst case, and 26ms in the best.

Same issue for me. Vancouver BC, Telus fiber. ~100 ping for Oregon and Cali, with OR somehow being a bit higher.
Our main link is out between Seattle and Portland. Traffic is taking a long detour. Probably wont be restored until tomorrow. There's a backup link that should be doing it's job here but.. isn't.

Russia has no specific server for Valorant. The closest thing to a gamepod specifically built for Russia is the Europe one in Tokyo for players in Eastern Russia.
pretty sure those are seperate to apac Tokyo servers, and I imagine are intended to serve people in eastern Russia/CIS

WindTre in Italy is doing the same issue unfortunately. Frankfurt has 18 ms ping, London which used to have max 50 now had 200ms after the new update.

I'm sorry can you explain to me why on exitlag it says I should be getting 54ms but in game lobby I'm getting 100+ms?

We have heard good feedback regarding gaming specific ones like Exitlag and Wtfast. There are other alternatives out there like tunnelbear, express vpn, nord vpn etc. You will need to try a few of them to find one that works well for your ISP and you want to connect to the VPN servers that are close to the server location you want to play on.
Btw is it not possible to have the option to choose which pathway to be preferred?
It is not this simple unfortunately. Your ISP could send all the traffic for our network to Europe and ignore our presence in the Middle East, but that would apply to all users of that provider and wont provide you with the best experience for all the future titles that we release with local server presence.

You are going to need to use a VPN that lets you select a European termination point to resolve this in the short term. Since our network is now closer to Jordan from Dubai, that is the path that is being preferred - your traffic will be routing into Dubai to enter our network. The VPN providers generally host with local networks that allow very targeted routing, which is why they are able to provide solutions to this. This is something our team are looking at solutions for but it will take time.
Paris is down to 70 before it was 47ish, is it gonna go back to the 50s in later weeks or is this the new ping for Paris because of the new topology?
Yes - we wont be able to get better than this without adding additional network links this will take a significant amount of time. Egypt was setup to go via Milan and Frankfurt (probably because the cable across the sea lands in Marseille) because League of Legends is hosted in Frankfurt and this will be the better path for the majority once we start using this infrastructure for LOL also. VPN does not fix the issue, i play solely on VPN because im region blocked from playing the game, dubai servers are 160+ping and all eu servers are around 300+ ping

We still have the same issue here in Jordan, before the update London ping was 60-70 now its a constant 150, when will this be fixed please? we play 100% of our games on eu and now its just unplayable :/
