We’ve been working on creating visual indicators for buffs and debuffs.

Desires for such a system can be conflicting. They include;

  • Providing needed information (stack count, duration, etc).
  • Ensuring clarity - which are buffs? Which are debuffs?
  • Preserving screen real estate - we don’t want a list of buffs and debuffs to impair your ability to see and react to what is happening on the screen.

Three stacks of this buff have just been applied.

Our approach to balancing these concerns includes;

  • Having a retreating outline (green for buffs, red for debuffs) represent the remaining duration. A buff or debuff will begin with the outline completely encasing the icon. When half of the duration has expired, the outline will only be on the right...

Thanks for the post!

As this thread isn’t about performance I’ll move this to a new thread.

Thanks for the suggestions!

We’re unlikely to implement the second suggestion, as it would result in using a portal taking longer - and this could potentially cause problems for people playing on Hardcore.

Hi there,

Thank you for the detailed list of steps you took prior to the bug occurring. If you haven’t opened the game client again since this happened, could you please upload the log file?

I don’t doubt it.

Grinding Gear Games is over ten years old, and Path of Exile has been getting installed on the computers of their customers since 2012. This has afforded them ample time to develop a reputation which can be factored into heuristics utilized by security software. By contrast, Eleventh Hour Games was formed in 2017 and Last Epoch is still in beta development. Both it and we are consequently much...

I wanted to have the diagnostic information in its own post.

To touch on a few of the subjects raised thus far in the thread;

It is possible that security software distrusts our Launcher and is throttling it to inspect the traffic in real-time. The above support article shows how to mark it as a trusted program.

Alternatively, you can use ...

Yes, Windows can do it when you restart your computer (before it is in use again).

Please be sure to read the guide I linked to carefully. :slight_smile:

Is this on your Kingston SSD?

It’s a bit optimistic, but having Steam check the game files may help with that.

The log file is recreated each time you open the game client. Did you actually play the game the last time you ran it? The log file is extremely short, so unfortunately it’s not very helpful.

Looking at the DxDiag, your video card doesn’t meet our minimum system requirements. While I’m not sure if that’s responsible for this issue, it does unfortunately mean that the game is unlikely to run well on your current computer. You may wish to consider refunding it.

Your skills will earn XP until they are at the cap of 20 points (again). Typically they level up much more quickly than what they did while you leveled them up for the first time.

This respec system will be changed in the future.
