Yeah I had this happening to me too a couple of times, it's noted.

Great ledge grab
Patch Incoming!
Nah this looks pretty good, don't see a problem of this 'feature'. It's amazing to see cool new stuff people pull off after you spent many hours on the same map trying to get traversal up to speed.
didn't know it was possible to walk on the side of bridge.
Neither did I...
mostly on debris that certainly is flat enough to deploy one on it (I experienced this mostly on Devastation)
also some rocks on Hamada, that again should be flat enough, have this problem.
I cant point out any exact places right now but Ill play a few matches tonight and update this comment when I find exact positions
also I didnt mean to sound rude in my initial comment, rather a bit annoyed/frustrated
glad youre actually commenting
Got it, when I get back to it I'll include this feedback. It might take a while though, pretty packed with other/new stuff at the moment.
Bigger important fixes like the bipod that still doesnt work properly?
See that is something I can talk about since that's my code. Can you share a bit more info so I can look into it? Where does it happen?
Can you please pass on that players hate calling in a squad vehicle only to have it disappear because nobody died soon enough to grab it? Also it's really annoying to have to redeploy, call it in, then redeploy again in order to spawn in it.
Can you guys please work on smoothing that out?
At the very least, give squads their requisition points back if nobody takes the vehicle.
Forwarded it as feedback :)
Isn't a solid knowledge of C++ relevant "mainly" for a graphic engine engineer or similar?
I don't know how the work is actually splitted, but isn't game logic programming at higher level than core engine programming, such that is more relevant how handle something like the game API, and (of course) "gameplay discipline"? (is that what do you mean with knowing game tech) ?
Just a silly question by a Computer Engineering student and BFV passionate!
Well all programmers write the same language (C++), but as you said some disciplines, like for example graphics, physics, core engine, have take performance more into consideration than other disciplines. In gameplay programming, writing code that's readable and scalable is also very important, so when stuff doesn't happen every frame, performance can suffer a bit.
It's always a tradeoff, spend a whole day on a high performance fix for one bug, or fix 3 bugs in the same day. Code needs to be reliable and performant, but at the same time stuff needs to get done as well. Makes it hard but also fun at the same time to continuously find that balance while keeping the bigger picture into consideration.
How can a spelling correction not make it into a patch? How many people need to approve such a small thing before it can be included into a patch?
Every patch has 100s of small changes that go in, something flagged as minor like this can be overseen when the focus is on the bigger, important fixes.
Looks like a placeholder text. The updated text went in a while back but sadly didn't make it into the patch.
/u/lytlb1 When the patch will be live that makes it harder?

Ouch.... I'll forward that to the anti-cheat people.
That makes sense. May I ask what kind of education one might have if they wanted to have a job like yours?
I studied Communication & Multimedia Design, but may coders studied something like Computer Engineering. Education isn't the most important thing though, experience in (small) teams and understanding how game tech works is more important than knowing c++ inside out.
I wish you guys would reply to all the concern threads instead of the meme threads.
Personally I'm working on core gameplay code, whenever something related to my work pops up I'll reply when I feel the need to. Other stuff that's out of my hands I won't comment on since I don't want to spread any false information.
looking fab
Read moreI have difficulty vaulting and climbing into windows Most noticeably going from the street into house windows on the Narvik map. Those houses Around objective C.
Difficulty locating transports! Why does the map lie? Why does the BFV respawn map show transports on the map where there aren’t actually any transports available? The Frostbite engine correctly shows transport locations in BF4, in real time, so there’s no excuse for BFV maps to be basically lying to players. Spawning into an area where the map shows a transport, running around for a minute or two only to realize the map is lying to me is extremely frustrating and is a total waste of my time. This lazy map design is not worthy of a Battlefield title!
Please have someone look at abandoned transports self destruct times on all Conquest maps but Panzerstorm. It’s seems that I can never locate a transport on maps like Narvik, Hamada, Twisted Steel because abandoned transports never “reset” back to their spaw...
There is a max height for window vaults which I believe is 1.5m, if we go higher it will look silly. I do understand it's unreadable and we need to do something about that.
I also agree that transports are problematic currently, but sadly it's not something I work on. The issue is known though so hopefully people will have time to fix it any time soon.

Forwarded everything to the anti-cheat people, thanks for the info!
In the game or in your team?
In the game
Someone else in the game was using a spotting hack. Today's patch should fix this 'issue'.

We do agree that Firestorm needs it the most, but also think about stationaries and top gunner positions on the regular game. Very frustrated to not be revivable if you see your corpse lying there.
I just wanted to let you know not the whole community thinks this way. I can imagine what hard work and love you've probably put into the game and people making jokes on here (not even funny ones) must be heart breaking. This sub has become a circle jerk and it's truly saddening.
For what it's worth I think BF V has the best mechanics of any BF to date, it just suits the skilled and the ones who are into hardcore experiences. No 3D spotting, no sweet spot, attrition, fundamentals squad mechanics make this a truly great BF. I really hate the including of BR though just doesn't feel right.
It's just it's missing maps and factions but I think you guys know that already but can't do much about it for corporate reasons.
I couldn't care less for assignments, progression or cosmetics, maybe that's because I'm coming from a time where people played games because they're fun. BF V is fun it just lacks content.
Well as long as the complains/jokes are justified and not just plain out rude, all I can do is forward the feedback and enjoy the memes. If it touches stuff I work on I'll do my best to improve the situation.
I'm a player just like you guys, I've played these games since forever so I want the experience to be smooth too.
