Hey! Are you still running into this? And when you say "restarted the game" do you mean via the Xbox nexus > Hamburger button > Quit flow or did you just go to the dashboard and back?
Also, if you're still seeing the title in Quick Resume, be sure to remove it from there before relaunching.
If, after that, you are still running into a blocker, can you hit up Halo Support so they can gather more info than I can? It'd be massively helpful.
I am part of Halo insiders. Joined the 18th of april 2019. I am not sure where I can find information about the ring you're talking about? If you can tell me where to look? And is this linked by any chance with the problem that I am not able to start any game on infinite? Thanks!
It's certainly possible.
To find your ring info on console, you can go to:
My games & apps > Xbox Insider Hub > Previews > Joined > Xbox Update Preview > Manage > Should tell you what ring you're in!
If I had to guess, I'm going to guess that you're in Xbox Update Preview Alpha Skip-Ahead.
Can you submit a ticket with Halo Support and let them know that you're experiencing this issue, that you're part of the Preview Program, and specifically identify what ring you're in?

This seems to have worked, thank you. But now, of course, my Halo 3 custom games/maps are gone. Is there any way to restore them? I made backups of the files, but if I put them back, the game crashes again.
I am officially out of my depths as not a Support agent. You could submit a ticket with them and see if they have any thoughts or info I am not aware of! :)
I am, unfortunately. I tried reinstalling the game, but no luck. I'm currently reinstalling the game to a different drive to see if that has an effect.

Can you try this workaround maybe? You want to remove all files from the following directories. They can be backed up elsewhere on your machine if desired:
C:\Users[username]\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\Temporary\UserContent\Halo3\Map
C:\Users[username]\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\Temporary\UserContent\Halo3\GameType
C:\Users[username]\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\LocalFiles*\Halo3\Map
C:\Users[username]\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\LocalFiles*\Halo3\GameType
Those are the temporary and saved locations for Halo 3 map and game variants respectively. I strongly encourage you to back up your saved (LocalFiles) variants so you don't lose your UGC.
If that doesn't work, do submit a ticket to our Halo Support team so they can track it.

This has been on our radar and it's being looked into. If you have the time, it can't hurt to send a ticket to our Halo Support site so they can add your Gamertag to The List™.
They stated you can “select” which season of a battle pass you want to be on and then play.
So if one match I’m at season 4 level 96, I select that battlepass, do a match/complete a challenge and level it up to 97. Then next match I decide I want to get something back in season 2, I switch it to season 2 battlepass and my challenges will now start counting towards that one.
That’s how I understood it. You choose what you want to level up before going into a game
