Is this restricted to just our own party or is it going to matchmake an entire lobby within 1 tier of each other?

And by one tier do they mean plat-diamond or plat4-3?

I have many questions

If it matchmakes the entire lobby within one tier of everyone then I will be happy that predators will no longer be in my diamond lobbies

This is referring to partying up with your friends to play a Ranked match. Currently you can party up with your friends and play Ranked no matter what your rank/their rank is. For Series 3, for Platinum and above, you can only party with players up to 1 Tier away from you.

To be explicit: Tiers are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Apex Predator. This partying restriction means if you are Platinum, you can only party with Gold -> Diamond. If you are Diamond, only Platinum-> Master/Apex Predator. (Master and Apex Predator are treated as the same tier for this partying check).

Please, I can only get kills with a smart pistol but you don't see us adding that in.

Let me just note that when I read the title of "maiming each legend" I was expecting to see at least some gore, not a bar chart. :(

Some of us still lurk here and there, but I don't think it's a surprise that we talk a lot less here nowadays.

I'm sorry you're catching so much flak that's actually intended for us :( I did want to say though it was amazing seeing Vince show up at the office as Caustic. This picture of him kicking our Lead Programmer dressed as a door while our HR staff looks on nonchalantly is a highlight of my time here: https://twitter.com/MonsterclipRSPN/status/1189989916131807232

Hey there, Miner47... Tom here. I'm the guy who wrote Wattson's dialogue for Apex Legends. (Apparently, folks get skeptical around here... can you blame them? It is the Internet. I've been assured though that a Dev Sticker will appear on my account, but as this is my first post, I'm not sure if it will... so let's see if it actually does... I eagerly anticipate lots of responses about how she created the Ring. WE KNOW, WE KNOW! LOL!)

Anyway, first up, I'm so very, very sorry about your dad. There are no words at a time like this... that's what I tell myself, at least. But apparently there were: Wattson's words. And that's an incredibly powerful thing to read. I have a bit of a story for you, myself. About Wattson and those lines.

I think most would agree, Wattson isn't your typical FPS or BR character. In the months leading up to her launch, I went from feeling super confident in her, to being utterly terrified of her. The truth is, I'm not close to my fat...

Tom is a beautiful human being and I'm lucky to get to sit close to him in the office. :)

My condolences :( For whatever it's worth I'm glad you and your Dad were able to have some fun playing this game together.

That’ll be their next game, R6 is probably code for the 6th game Respawn develops after Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Titanfall: Assault, Apex Legends and Jedi: Fallen Order. Apparently they’re working on a Medal of Honor game for the Oculus though, and this could represent a character from that game as it looks like WW2 era clothing.

This is almost right. R3 was the game the Star Wars team was working on before Star Wars, R4 is Star Wars, and R5 is Apex.

Just an FYI, you’re not totally correct here - jayfresh is not a dev. He’s literally supposed to be the community manager - i.e. he’s a paid professionally supposed to be trained to deal with anonymous internet assholes. So while one of the commenters from Respawn that lost his cool was a dev, jayfresh had no excuse

Regardless of what anyone else says, community managers are devs. Our QA testers are devs. Our marketing peeps are devs. You're a game dev if you've helped us make this game in some shape or form. It takes an army of people to keep this game going, and all of us have our part to play.

Japanese, otherwise it would be "HuDa"instead of Kodai. Yeah it's not really a common name, in both Chinese and Japanese 大虎 would be more common I think

I think one of the random grunts in Titanfall is named after me :p

You're thinking 古代。虎大 means literally "Tiger Big"but is a reference to our former Lead Character Artist Kevin Anderson's son.

idk, just some speculation, but i think he was trying to say that normally you only have like 1 cs degree but nah this mans got TWO not one but TWO. i think the exclamation point thingy was for effect, not math

It was absolutely for both exaggerated effect and a small math joke.

As i am studying cs right now aswell and i would love to get into comp graphics/game dev, i would be super interested in knowing what are your degrees in? Also did you have prior gamedev / work experience?

Imposter syndrom is strong in me :‘D

Worked at a bank in Japan writing trade allocation software before I got into games.

Real talk: Imposter syndrome is super prevalent in the games industry, I suffer from it all the time. It's a delicate balance to make, staying humble and receptive to ideas, versus knowing when to trust your own judgement and having confidence in your worth.
