To be clear - the error occurs only in certain regions (like Japan), and it occurs when you destroy the top part of Rampart's wall. Stacking walls as shown is unnecessary, but shooting a bullet through stacked walls destroys the top part of all walls except the one closest to you, which triggers the condition mentioned above. We did allude to this on our Twitter account ( https://twitter.com/PlayApex/status/1295847532698861568 ), we have a fix locally and will look into fixing it in live soon(TM)

Generally though, as mentioned, we are overall happy with the state of Ranked and as such are not currently planning to overhaul it from the ground up. We are hoping to make improvements where we can, but there is no plan to just throw the entirety of Ranked away and start all over.

Excuse my assumptions, but if in 3% of platinum players matches they have to face Masters/Predators doesn't that imply that in those specific matches there are not enough players in all of Predators+Masters+Diamond added up together to fill even one lobby (out of the currently searching, of course there could be multiple lobbies in various stages of progress)? Is that not the bigger problem than that 3% of platinum games have players in masters/predator?

Or, to put it more bluntly: What's the point of the diamond rank if they're just fodder for master...

(Which isn't to say we're not going to try and improve it ever again). I picked one data point, percentage of games Platinum players play against Master/Predator, because that's the one that often gets screenshots posted on to Reddit etc, so it seemed appropriate to address it.

This is probably a mistake because, let's face it, no matter what I say in here people will be angry and shout at me but: the 3% stat is for both Master/Apex Predator, i.e. the text should read "Only 3% of matches for all Platinum players in Apex Legends have them going up against a Master or Apex Predator". The only distinction between Master and Apex Predator is the reward the get at the end of the season, the rest of Ranked treats them as exactly the same. (Entry costs are the same, grouping restrictions are the same, they matchmake the same, etc etc). The omission was simply a mistake on my part.

To clarify another critique made here: If a match has 30 Plats and there's one Apex Predator in the lobby, we count that as 30 games when calculating the 3% stat above.

I'm sure the people most angry about the stat will say "I run into Preds far more than 3%", and that is probably true for them, but it is not true for the system as a whole. If you play on a low popula...

Please don't, despite what you think we're always reading this subreddit already and tagging people like Jeremy who's an artist does almost nothing to help fix the bug. In fact it tends to have the opposite effect in making us want to post less and less on this subreddit.

In case I have to explicitly say it: yes we are aware of this issue and are working to fix it as we speak. That doesn't necessarily mean you can expect the fix right this instant, but Soon(tm)

2k? Do you mean 8K instead? As far as I remember wayyyy back when Dota ranked was introduced 5~6K was considered good enough for pro players, but it was a big deal for Miracle/RTZ/Abed etc to be the first few players to reach 8 0 0 0 M A T C H M A K I N G P O I N T S.

I also don't want to get into a long discussion about this here because surprise surprise, Reddit is not the best place to have discussions for me. :) But I will say as one of the primary designers for Ranked, from a background of competitive games I came into this with the perspective of "Well of course some kind of Elo/Glicko based MMR system is the way to go". Elo/Glicko systems, primarily work for 2 player/2 team games (such as those games you've mentioned, Dota/Overwatch), where you can clearly say the winner was better than the loser in a particular match. This breaks down in the world of BRs with 20 squads where the 1st placing team can (and often does) literally have had zero contact with teams 10th-20...

I'm not saying this is what happened, but here is a legitimate case of why this could be happening: Players A and B are gold and silver respectively, they are friends and party up into Ranked. They get matchmade as gold. Player C matchmakes into their party, and is Plat. Plat players can and do play with Golds. After the match if Player C tries to join a party with Players A and B, we do not allow that because Plat can only play with 1 Tier difference away.

Why is there a 1 Tier difference max then? Mainly this is an attempt to stop boosters in Ranked.

Happened to me as well, exactly as OP described. They just vanished after getting the 1500 reward on the event track. Challenges were still visible from the map tab in-game, I completed them but did not receive the reward for hitting 2000.

I did a full shutdown of the Xbox. Didn't help. I deleted the game and reinstalled. Didn't help. Deleted all local data. Didn't help.

Check now and see if it's still happening? We just pushed a fix on our backend.
