🌪 Improvements to physics and collision issues such as bean tornados
👊 Fixed punchers spawning twice in the same spot on Freezy Peak
🔎 Main menu button improvements + scaled up Fall Guy
⏲ Removed empty timer on Season Progress bar
🍓 Fixed conveyor belts moving too slow on Fruit Chute
🔇 No more annoying noise every time someone qualifies
The above should hopefully make the game feel much better for a lot of you that were experiencing slide-tackling beans, pushed off of tiles from a great distance in Sum Fruit, things like that! We still have a bunch of things in the works for our future update that will help further.
No, not banned and should be OK now! We're trying to nail down to full cause but it seems to be related to Steam updating.
We will never sit here and tell you to not give feedback or criticism when you see it fit, and nobody likes to see details like this go unnoticed until the game is live.
There have been multiple people on this sub claiming to be Beta testers and saying that they reported a lot of issues with the last patch but Mediatonic pushed the update with all the bugs anyway.
Are you saying those people are all lying?
Not at all, I am speaking in this instance about the additions to the Xtreme playlist, which was not externally tested by our Board of Bean members!
Edit: Pressed enter too early, sorry! There were beta issues that went unactioned, and we are improving our internal processes to catch the bigger issues that slip through the net outside of that - clear bugs, for example.
We should make sure going forward that we are consistent when we add new levels in to prevent the current issues in the future though, that's for sure!
This is what I meant by posting though. It doesn't make sense that you weren't ALREADY on top of this, and it's a repeated pattern of behavior.
I'm really not trying to give you a hard time. I just want to see the game thrive, and it's not currently thriving. The devs have to take some responsibility for these weird, seemingly incompetent, mistakes that constantly show up.
Sure, I just wanted to also ensure that people didn't think that the above post meant something else (if that makes sense). It's only a small nuance from the feedback you're giving (which is valid, and I do understand), but it is an important one - the original post could read as if we never shortened the original timers though we did. I do think it's good to try and avoid those kinds of things where we can, and a lot of posts in the community can get quite out of control quite fast and we often see incorrect/false things just kinda go whoosh and be run with.
We do what we can to get changes like this rectified in real time, but it is often not possible :(. That is often because there is a lot happening under the hood that takes precedence. This doesn't get rid of the fact that a lot of players are sitting and watching the griefers, and having a poor experience though, so I understand frustration.
We will never sit here and tell you to not give ...
Read moreHey beans! I am still getting together a final list of what will be included, but do expect a post from me tomorrow outlining what to expect in the update and a date if I can give one (if not I will make that clear), and I will be on hand for any Qs!
Sorry that it is taking some time, I know that it can feel like these things should be instant or faster, but pivoting to make this work can be very complex. Thank you to those who have been patient while we work on this and gather info!
There is still work to be done in the long run to keep polishing LTMs like Xtreme, but when the post you are referencing was created, the new levels (for example lily leapers) were not in the playlist. It was during the first appearance of the LTM that I wrote this five months ago, and we did shorten all of the timers shortly after as outlined.
The newer additions should absolutely be shorter to match, but that is not what the above pertained to. We should make sure going forward that we are consistent when we add new levels in to prevent the current issues in the future though, that's for sure!
This is a dishonest reply. There's a difference between a rare bug that happens 1 out of every 10,000 players and since millions of people are playing it is impacting 10's of thousands of people, and stuff that is inexcusably broken 100 times out of 100 and the update getting pushed live anyway.
But there are still changes outside of that which we're going to make going forward, so your feedback is heard loud and clear and you should see this get better.
This is what I meant in terms of internal process changes. There are different causes for different things in the game, and that stuff that is 100% broken - let's say the qualification noise for example - needs way better processes to catch and squish. Sorry if it seemed dishonest, but I hope that clarifies what I meant.
An update on an update of an update!
We have taken Roll Off out of rotation until the above comes into place & we improve the issues with jumps being eaten on the platforms & teleports!
I mean, it's great they're trying to fix it, but getting a fix out "before Season 6" is not the news I was hoping for. For one thing, we have no idea when Season 6 is and if these bug fixes are going to delay that further. For me, the game is basically unplayable in its current version because the physics are so bad that it's just not fun. If they could just focus on getting the physics back to where they were before this latest update rolled out, that would at least make the game playable. Bugs are annoying, but I can deal with them. What I can't deal with is the physics fundamentally changing the entire game for the worse. If you guys are prioritizing what needs done first, it's that.
That is a massive focus too, and it comprises of many different parts! We're hoping that the first patch makes a considerable improvement.
What? No fixes until season 6? Lmao this game is shit
We're looking to do a bug fix update before Season 6 addressing the most critical issues.
It's in bold and everything
Can we all as players get a definitive answer on when these changes will be made? I’d greatly prefer a reply of “it’ll be one week until the fix rolls out, sorry!” than a “we’re aware of the issue and working on it.”? The one thing that has started to drive myself and other veteran players I know is the lack of clarity from the devs. I truly enjoy the game but every time issues get bad enough, Oliver has to come out and play damage control to frustrated players by giving an answer that leaves us guessing. If I knew it would be 3 weeks until every bug was patched I’d still play and at least have a sense of hope that there’s a definitive timeframe that I know these issues will be gone.
If there’s one thing that can save the community’s trust in MT, it’s clarity.
The reason we haven't given a date is because it's really fluid, as fixes are still being investigated - and they also then need to be tested, which can change timeframes depending on results.
It's not because we know a date and we're not sharing it, or because we don't want to figure a date out, if that helps. But it will be one patch before s6 at least, and that will definitely take less than three weeks I can assure you. That won't fix every single thing though, but a large portion of key issues. At that stage we can better relay what's left to fix and didn't make it into that patch.
Good to hear the tornados, and general bean interactions are the priority.
I’m happy to clip, and send in any issue I run into. I know it helps to see the issue, try and replicate it, and work out what might be causing it.
Were there intended changes to the levels which can be served up in main show and squads? I’m seeing a team game every main show, and a high frequency of 16 player Hexagone or thin ice in squads. It feels like some legacy code may have gotten back into the game around level selection.
There were adjustments to the show weighting - kinda a little overdue, as S5 map level was really high before. The big finals isn't a favourite - any other feedback on that? Team games coming back in (but still not loads of them) was something we did consciously to see how they were feeling at the moment. It's always a hot topic, but we do like to change it up.
I'm grateful for the reassurance. Will there be any improvement in the playtesting of patches before they go live in the future?
For sure!
Whew!! Nice to see you're alive 🙂
Anyway, please, PLEASE make sure the updates are properly tested BEFORE RELEASED !!
This community does not deserve to experience all these problems live.
Hallo!! I hear you, some elements are unavoidable when you're a big online multiplayer game - 0000s of people playing the game with huge variables will always see things that we don't. This is pain, but an unfortunately normal element of dev. But there are still changes outside of that which we're going to make going forward, so your feedback is heard loud and clear and you should see this get better.
Thank you for this efforts mediatonic to make FG more smooth experience, but I just want my honk honk and jester emote cries
We do have some lingering rotation issues - is your shop totally bought out except for a few things including those? I see people getting the honk in their store, so just checking to see if you have a bug or just bad luck haha
Thanks for taking the time to post this.
A couple of questions: Will the bug fixes trickle through to us as you reach them, or are we to expect them in a batch of fixes?
Also are you guys able to share a list with us of the specific bugs/issues you are prioritising?
They will be done in batches; this is the most efficient way for things to be tested and launched. If we did them say, one-by-one, it would delay each one after the first as it goes into a round of testing and QA, and is then deployed. Updates take a lot of different moving parts and teams to roll out, so even though doing it in batches feels slower, it's actually most efficient. Sorry if that sounds jarbled, I find it hard to explain that kind of thing!!
We will share a list of the specific issues before the end of tomorrow - that'll come from me, I'm just waiting on a few other bits before I can solidify it :)
Is the double glove in Freezy Peak a bug or a feature?
Also I hope the bumpiness is resolved, Sum Fruit is damn ridiculous in Squads with unwitting rookies.
Bug! This will be sorted.

Realistically since the update I have been playing much less. I’m a 1000+ wins player, who used to play every night, but it simply feels like a different game now.
How my bean interacts with other beans and objects feels so much worse than before. I get caught in desync tornados (let’s say there’s 15 beans on a tile in perfect match or sum fruit, half of them will fly into the slime). The way objects hit me sends me back much further than ever before. A ball or fruit might knock me down, but now it knocks me back literally half the level in some cases. I can literally hug other players, but it refuses to take their tail or jinx them. Meanwhile the gentlest grab from another player sends me flying off the map.
I play on my home server, I have very reliable internet due to the nature of my job and having to work remotely.
A lot of the fun has just been taken out of the game for me, not necessarily because I can’t win as much, bu...
The tornados are a big one for us, slide-tackling, general teleporting and things like that are a huge focus - so I really hope that improves for you soon as we're looking into that a LOT!
The huge impacts that you're getting are one we'd really appreciate some clips of if you get the chance to. It's clear by your recount here why you'd play less as it sounds like you're having a really frustrating experience, and we're really sorry about that. You shouldn't be being propelled at such force at all, and that is really strange.
u/OliverAge24Artist Could you just revert back to the previous version in the meantime while you get things figured out? The game is borderline unplayable in its current state.
Hey Eze (and /u/Rolbgie)!
Just chiming in on this one :)
There are a couple of reasons. If we could roll back, it'd take some time, and by the time that is sorted out we'd likely be close to a hotfix so it'd lack some impact there.
Fundamentally, there are a lot of changes in this update under the hood that are vital improvements and need to be in the game, and so it can't just be reverted.
We do hope that the features of 5.1 that you liked come through when we fix and patch this going forwards, and that the game improves for you considerably - but I am concerned to hear that it's almost unplayable for you. A lot of the issues being experienced vary greatly person-to-person, so if you are one of the worst affected, I really implore you to reach out to support with what you're exper...
