This is also how you share worlds with friends, you take a world file and put it in that folder. It'll then show up in game with whatever file name it is. Easy peazy. Hard part is finding the valhiem folder. Mine is in my user app data under "irongate"

Just to add to these great instructions, the path on most computers is: C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\ - where it say's Username, change it to your account name.

Hmmm... just looking at that list I'd suggest uninstalling the armor & weapon mods first, re-verify the game through Steam, and try your combat again.

If that works, then add the mods you removed back one at a time & test in between each addition to see if you can find the one that's borking your attack animation up.

If not, you may want to put the time into doing the more drastic suggestion I had and trying that process again but with ALL the mods.

But! Hopefully in the meantime someone else has some other more specific advice for you to try.

Good luck!

Optimization is kind of an on-going work through a games development, usually the bulk of it is done at the end just before retail release but some can be included in content releases or hot-fixes... it tends to be an incremental process though up till full release.

However, there is a quick pass of tweaks you can do pretty easily may be helpful to getting your computer to work around the CPU load the game currently can cause in certain situations - https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/liz... Read more

Can you list out what mods you installed? Someone here may have solved a similar problem with one.

Otherwise you may be better of going to Nexus and looking on the comment pages for those mods to see if you can find any clues, or asking on those mod comment pages.

One thing you might try first is uninstalling the mods completely, delete your config file & re-verify your Valheim installation through Steam... and then reinstalling the mods one by one and firing the game up in-between each mod install and testing your combat & stuff for a few minutes. That way you may at least be able to figure out which mod is causing the problem so you can look specifically at that Nexus page. And sometimes just doing that fixes issues like this.

Hope you find a solution, that sounds really frustrating :steamsad:

Iron Gate nor its publisher has an obligation to disclose finances as you are not an investor or proprietor. You have made an Early Access purchase by the descriptions of Early Access, defined by Steam as Early Access. Neither of which gives you a stake in the game's profits nor does it allow you to mandate the game's direction. Instead, you can provide feedback to influence the game's approach at the consideration of the game's proprietors.

Investor: a person or organization that puts money into financial plans, property, etc. with the expectation of achieving a profit.
Early Access: Early access, also known as early funding, alpha access, alpha founding, or paid alpha, is a funding model in the video game industry by which consumers can purchase and play a game in the various pre-release development cycles, such as pre-alpha, alpha, and/or beta, while the developer is able to use those funds to continue further development on the game. Those that pay to participate typically help to debug the game, provide feedback and suggestions, and may have access to special materials in the game. The early-access approach is a common way to obtain funding for indie games, and may also be used along with other funding mechanisms, including crowdfunding. Many crowdfunding projects promise to offer access to alpha and/or beta versions of the game as development progresses; however, unlike some of these projects which soli... Read more

It is an enjoyable video for sure. I wouldn't mind a series on Netflix or Hulu.

If you're worried about someone new being a possible troll, one thing to do when you're first allowing a new person into your world is to make a copy of your world file BEFORE you let them log in and just save it in a folder - that way if they're good, awesome no need to do anything else! But if they do suddenly start messing things up, you can get rid of them and restore your old save.

Not 100% perfect but it will mean you won't lose EVERYTHING, just what was done after this troll joined you.

I think most of us have felt some of his pain at least in the beginning!

This is a "brutal survival game" - unlike a lot of other survival games that say they're hard, this one truly takes a lot of patience, planning & preparation to progress with the least amount of this kind of frustration. It does not cheat, there is no mechanic to mob spawn your tombstone... it is just unforgiving if you try and rush around without a solid plan, or backups to your solid plan. Husband would be better off slowing his roll and figuring out a new approach so he doesn't have this experience. Most people only die when they make a mistake - I know in my case every one of my deaths have been entirely my fault one way or another.

This is a recent thread here where a LOT of great strategy and tactics were discussed, it might be useful to take a read through! ... Read more

I was using gportal for VH too and I did have a similar conflict which turned out to be my Steam Cloud Saves for some reason. I disabled that option for VH and did not have it happen again.

I don't know if that will help in your situation, but maybe try? Otherwise GFB's suggestion is probably the best considering.

A word from IronLisa We have seen a lot of questions regarding whether or not you'll have to create a new world to get the Hearth & Home-content, and the answer is that it depends. For the vast majority of the content you won't have to create a new server, but some content won't be available if you have explored the whole map. So if you have a lot of unexplored areas there shouldn't be any issues, but if you have explored everything you could miss out on a few things. We are looking into solutions for this, and with some luck it won't be an issue at all, but for that we can't make any promises. More information on this will come when the update is released! We are currently looking into ways to make the transition between pre-hearth & home worlds and the new version as smooth as possible. We know also that players on Geforce Now cannot use the console commands at all.

So some patience and we will sort it you all out =)

The game would need to be fully released before a console port could even be considered. As far as I am aware, there has been no official discussion on a future port.

That's actually good to know.

From what I can see, game really sounds more like it's being about the Settler rather than Viking tbh.
Kinda hoped it focuses more on combat aspect, potentially in online mode.
