Wow, thank you so much for replying!! That's reassuring to hear about the salary, would definitely help convince my parents of the career choice haha. I've been looking through the university programs and believe that the game design intern might best fit my field and interests. I look forward to applying and hopefully working with you this upcoming summer :)
Good luck! My parents were surprised about my career choice too, but very supportive. I decided to quit being an attorney to work in games, so it was a big change for me (and them).
this makes me happy considering i had to do about 1500 hours of free labour in my nursing degree

Hi there Preeti! I’m currently studying computer science. Would a game design intern fit under that field of study? I’m currently applying to different places because you know, I needa make a living, but I would choose working on games in a heartbeat over any price companies would offer. If there are any positions in which computer science would fit in I would love to apply! :D
Oh we have engineering roles, which I believe Computer Science fits into!
Also you can totally make a living in games too! Riot pays a very competitive salary because we want to hire the best game devs and because cost of living is high out here.
I am loving the reaver collection so much I bought the whole pack. The animation is awesome. My one pain point if I may on the knife animation is no one else can see it. My friends and I both have it and upgraded with radiant. If you look at the knife when the other person is holding it there is no purple mist at all it just looks like the standard version.
Ah, I get that. We do that for competitive integrity. We wouldn’t want an enemy to think you were holding an ability in your hand from far away. We never show any VFX in third person so it’s never pay to win.

Hey, I’m a high schooler who wants to do game programming in college. What can I do now to make myself stand out to employers and does riot offer programming internships? I’ve found some game dev internships limited in some ways. Thanks!
1.) Chase as opportunities to learn and show that really clearly in your internship application/resume. Good internship pipelines look for potential over specific kinds of experience, so showing you have a growth mindset and how you've pursued learning is good.
2.) We do have internships that use programming - ie engineering or tech design. What do you mean limited?
Do you have any advice getting an internship at Riot? I am a canadian computer engineer undergrad and would really love to do a summer internship with you guys.
I don't know much about the process, but I remember there being a really great LinkedIn group that had advice. I think it's called "Riot Careers" or something like that.
Hello Preeti! I currently study architecture. I don’t see any architectural internships (I.e maps, structures, space) on the website. I am eager to know if such a thing is possible! Exploring a 3D environment as an architectural space would be awesome as an internship:)
Oh, I don't know. One of our former designers used to be an architect, so maybe that's a potential avenue?
