You can apparently remove MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup from \steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\launcher, and will no longer receive the prompt.

Console logs (or crash reports) instead, please!

Edit: I should also clarify that it’s installing a Microsoft Edge Runtime, and not the Edge browser.

I’m not able to identify the cause unfortunately, I suspect it’s code-related. I’ve raised this to our database to be looked at.

We’ll have this resolved in our upcoming patch, apologies for the inconvenience.

We’re looking into this. Could you please provide your console log from the session that this happened?

To do so:

1. Press the Windows key + R
2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2\console_logs
4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names
5. Upload the appropriate console log to us

As above, please ensure you launch Warhammer: Vermintide 2. The Closed Test is inactive.

I suspect the crash is unrelated, please copy and paste the crash report produced in here and we can check it out.

It’s not installing Edge, but an edge runtime component. It’s not spyware but a tiny component that helps the launcher render/function appropriately. Without it, you’ll see a simplified version of the launcher without the content.

I suspect that this crash is mod-related.

I can see you are using the following mods:

• Player List Plus
• UI Tweaks
• UI Improvements
• BossKillTimer
• Notice Key Pickup
• Loadout Manager
• Reroll Improvements

These mods currently have known issues which are likely to result in unstable behaviour and crashes. You can view the status of known issues with mods here:
