We are aware of a similar issue which does ultimately seem to resolve on its own, which may be the case for you eventually, but nonetheless we still need to remedy this. Sorry for the inconvenience, we’re looking in to it.

Hello! This was implemented as part of our launcher improvements, and should have no impact on performance. However, it will be removed soon, as it doesn’t quite meet our requirements.

Thank you for your detailed report Visulth! Looking in to it.

The crashes you’re experiencing appear to related to your Windows Page File.

Could you please ensure your ‘Virtual Memory’ is set to ‘Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives’ by:

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > System and Security
  2. Select ‘System’
  3. Select ‘Advanced system settings’
  4. Under the ‘Advanced’ tab, select the ‘Settings’ button underneath ‘Performance’
  5. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab
  6. Select the ‘Change’ button underneath ‘Virtual memory’
  7. Ensure the ‘Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives’ checkbox is marked
  8. Restart your PC

Thank you for letting us know, I’ve raised it to our database for investigation.

Our developer has asked if you would be willing to see if this works?:

  1. Navigate to the ‘launcher’ directory, which should have a path similar to this on your PC: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\launcher
  2. Open the ‘x86’ directory
  3. Copy the contents of the x86 directory
  4. Paste the contents of the ‘x86’ directory in to the ‘launcher’ directory, which will overwrite some of the existing contents

Then, see if the “normal” launcher works. Let me know if you have any questions!

Comment

Understood! Our launcher developer is looking in to it, but in the mean time please continue to use the workaround. Sorry about this!

This could well be the way we do it if we do. Certainly food for thought

We’ve got no imminent plans to add them to Adventure mode. We don’t want to rock the boat too much in terms of difficulty there. Some of the combos really need some Chaos Wastes boons to make them not just turn people to paste. It’s not impossible they will always stay solely in the Wastes but for now at least.

Thank you, I hope to have some more information for you next week.

If you haven’t already, could you see if the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option helps with your launcher issue?

  1. Right-click Vermintide 2 in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam
  6. Launch Vermintide 2 as normal

I can see where your play has been disrupted but unfortunately the errors aren’t listed in the backend. Could you upload your most recent console logs instead, please? I can then pass them on to our Backend Engineers to look in to on Monday.

Sorry to hear you’ve experienced a drop in performance - we are monitoring performance post-patch.

Comment

Sorry to hear that. Could you share the URL to your Steam profile with me, so I can attempt to look up the errors?

Comment

Your recent crash log still points toward a GPU issue I’m afraid, with the following error:

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

It’s possible that the issue could be hardware related, have you had any issue with other games?

I can only really suggest running through the solutions in the above articles again (I appreciate you have already attempted them).

If nothing resolves this for you, and you wish to proceed with a refund, please let me know. Sorry that I haven’t been able to be of better help to you! :frowning:

Hey @Just3nka,

Could you please provide the crash report (GUID string) if this occurs again?

If you could send your console log from this session that would be very helpful also. Thanks!

I can appreciate that :frowning: I’m at a bit of a loss as you’ve exhausted the usual solutions. I’d be happy to request a refund via Steam for you (providing it was originally purchased through Steam). Let me know should that be something you wish to proceed with.
