Some, like before, but the remaining will come from challenges and none for shillings.

We quickly realised putting some of the cosmetics in the store was a terrible idea on GK and that's been corrected here for Bardin.

We had a chap or chapette in the helpdesk recently who experienced similar. Turned out their PSU was melting one of the (I'm going to say molex but perhaps there's a better term) molex plugs. V2 just created enough of a draw to make it apparent. Can't blame the game per se for highlighting that weakness, it just happened to be the trigger that caused the failing hardware to go over the edge.

So check temps, and check your PSU and connections.

We solved this on Saturday! Sorry for that.

That's all cool and all, but why make PC players suffer?

I bought Vermintide 2 on release and it was maybe 50-ish gb (i don't remember for sure) and it was fine. I thought to myself, fine, it's a new modern game, I'll play it.

Then I played for a bit, and had to uninstall to make space for more games, and haven't touched it since, in no small part because it's simply so huge an install.

Now there's some kind of event going, and I wanted to check it out again, and it's 90 GB now. What the hell? I have no dlcs, nothing, what new content is there, that nearly doubles the game size??

Ok, I understand the thing about load times, although, I would myself prefer saving disk space, I don't mind load times, I can just alt-tab while the game loads and browse the web.

But the patches that keep the old versions on HDD... What is our hard drive to you - a version control system? :D

P.S. I liked the game itself. Wish I could play it withou...

Sorry for the late reply but the disk size is pretty much the base master version plus all patched content. The total disk space is the master version of the game plus all the patched content. This is just how Steam works. To reduce disk size we have to do what's called a remaster which means to create a new master version rendering all the previous patches unnecessary leading to a smaller disk footprint. The problem with doing this is that all players will have to download the full game all over again which is roughly a 60GB download at this point. It's a fine line to balance but once we reach a cecrtain limit we try to do a remaster. This works a little differently depending on platform but that's roughly how it works on Steam

I'm currently working on a new button layout to try to appease as many community requested features as possible. The new button layout will most likely be included in the next patch

Oh so it's not a temporary change which will be addressed in "an upcoming patch"?

That's a different issue Julia is referring to. I'll need to check if the host/client issue was solved.

This was changed to improve performance on the PS4 version of the game.

The Xbox Series will just run the same version of the game as it is on Xbone, hopefully. It's a hands off process for us. No work needed. But time will tell how that all works. I think the same for PS5. Both have given statements saying everything should work but some stuff just randomly might not as well. :)

We haven't any immediate plans for a new release for the new platforms though.

Right now the game has parity across the platforms. :) so there will no doubt be updates in the future but nothing immediate / outstanding.

I get that it's a low tier priority, so even if it's something you look to add to Darktide in future as an enhancement :)

It would also advertise in game, the fact that this event is on and that your actively contributing towards something. Could be a win-win scenario.

Maybe a Standard or something that gets placed near Lohner or the Mission board.

For Darktide we have already discussed this, we're afforded the luxury of screens in-game with that IP, so stuff like this becomes all the more immersive.

Is there anyway of adding something in game to see how much we're adding to that tracker?

It'd be fun bragging rights for friends to show that we've added 1mill rats to the event each.

There's probably a way, but getting the implementation time might be tricky! The count goes through the same backend service where progression is stored, so we'd just need to increment a figure there and have the game display it in some fashion. I'll dig.

I'm convinced that these counters are not accurate, they are pre programmed and the reward is guaranteed. They've done these a few times and it always seems to finish near the end, but estimating these sorts of things is always very difficult so I dont believe they just picked the perfect number. Of course, it doesnt make any difference, and I wouldnt say anything just curious if anyone else has any input?

It's fair to think that, and usually (but not this time as it goes) there is a contingency plan. For Vermintide 1, we did a similar event using different telemetry. It was extrapolated from a sample of end of game reports. By all accounts pretty accurate, but not to the dime. We just multiplied the telemetry by 10, since we only captured 1 in 10 games. The same telemetry was used to guestimate what players would finish within the allotted time frame, rounded up usually. I updated that counter manually every few hours. It was exhausting. But the data was legit. We had the option to adjust the multiplier but it wasn't needed and actually came down to the wire, I think the challenge was finished in the final hour. (it was a 4 day event if memory serves)

For V2 though all clients report back their kills to the counter on round end. There's some protections and blacklists that work against people trying to report false data. But the data is 100% from game clients finishing maps....

I honestly thought you'd flunk it! We considered putting the hat up for grabs here but thought it would be a shame to see it lost. We did the math for 500 and thought it would be a squeeze, we had no idea how many would come for the free week(end?), and last minute we added 55,555,555 to be 'on theme' - I thought we might have gone too far, but it was pretty darned close! Gratz!

no trouble! The exit code, if it is a clue, might be hard to decipher so let me know if it's anything but 0x00000000
