Even the irrepressably jovial Bardin becoming a slayer is pretty weird.
It kind of breaks my heart. He's such a good boi.

Anyone else feel 10 USD is a bit high for the "full" package including challenges?
Comparison is WoM which was 20 USD and had a lot of content (albeit not the best quality of content on release). 5 new weapons plus illusions, around a couple dozen distinct maps with different modifiers, a new crafting system, leaderboards (which aren't necessarily desired), and all the challenges and weapon skins.
Back to Ubersreik was also 10 USD, and offered 3 full maps and a challenge map, 5 new weapons with 2 unlockable skins each, and a bunch of challenges.
For 10 USD we'd only be getting a career and one weapon (which they themselves priced at 4 USD), meaning 6 USD for a couple skins (probably just recolours), a couple helmets, and a couple weapon illusions, along with a few in game achievements.
I'm not sure it matches up in terms of value. I'd spend a couple extra dollars for the extra skins and such, to support them, but I feel 10 is a bit excessive compa...
$3.99 gets you all the gameplay. It's the one you'll want to pick up if you're here for the moment to moment combat. The upgrade/bundle is very much an optional purchase for those who just really wanna have a more ostentatious hat, or more regal colourway, some themed paintings or alternate illusions.
Thanks for clearing that up Hedge. Are there plans for more weapons for Grail Knight in the future? Maybe a thrown weapon?
It's not impossible! Nothing in the pipeline though. The kind of thing we'll look in to once folks get some gameplay and talk about what might be cool. :)
Still not clear if bretonnian krubs is like slayer in having only melee weapons or not. We know the Bretonnian navy uses a lot of gunpowder but its apparently below most knights. Still we could also see Kruber making concessions to the now non-negligible Imperial blood he has to still use guns and a bow (would be nice to have the bow no longer be exclusive to hunstman, tbqh)
No ranged weaponary planned for GK. Much like he turns his back to a pole or halberd, he would shun ranged also.
3.99 for the full career, there is another pack (didn't catch the price fast enough, I think it was 9.99) but you get extra cosmetics and skins basically on top of the career itself)
3.99 for the base career DLC. This is the new Kruber career and his base skins. All the talents and abilities, basic weapon set.
There is an upgrade available via a bundle, too. It's a bunch more cosmetic option, available through challenges and I think the emporium as well.
The whole bundle costs 9.99 if purchesed upfront as a package. It's possible to upgrade later, but I think it comes out a buck or two more expensive than the 'all in one' bundle.
By spending tons of time fleshing out a character to the level of the original 5, getting voice acting done for unique interactions with the original 5, creating 2 more careers so that they would have 3 like the others, etc etc...
I mean yeah in an ideal that would be better, but it would also probably mean that fatshark wouldn’t even consider doing it at all due to costs. I like it better this way, because it’s still actual content.
We could do it, but it would take ages, and cost a fortune to make, and as such we'd ask for more than anyone would pay, just to even attempt to break even.
Adding a new hero is so much more than just the hero, but every interaction any of the U5 have with that hero, across all maps, careers, etc. Yuge.
So, you're basically saying that when the update drops, i'll already have some of these Shillings?
Yep.
This is awesome! Can't wait to hear Kruber horrendous attempt at a french accent.
To tempter expectations, old VO wont be altered, but there will be some... interesting new dialogue lines :)
I appreciate that, and your time responding, but its not a great feeling booting into the keep to see 'rewards available' and getting nothing tangible.
I think my main issue is that there's nothing in game that acknowledges that its intentional and the reason for it. So you either just assume its bugged or you have to find out from the Internet. A one time pop up on the start menu or something, with a brief explanation would be ideal. Obviously not sure how viable that is but I really dislike having to go outside of a game for information about the game.
Aside from that I absolutely love this game.
Absolutely with you on that. We had a "news ticker" up for a time, but they annoy people if they stay up for too long. We'd loved to have had a notice in-game more permanently but it would require patching, and the patch in the pipeline solves this issue.
Yeah but in the meantime your daily quests give you nothing (because they're meant to now give shillings, which we don't have) weekly quests should give you the cosmetic reward crate but they don't show up half the time in the book and just says like 100000000hours until refresh
They do give shillings, you just don't have the shillings in the UI yet, nor can spend them.
Read moreIf I had to make a guess, I think Kruber isn't really a "proper" grail knight to justify him not being as overpowered as one in-game. He could be like a grail pilgrim, only instead of stalking some unfortunate grail knight everywhere for scraps of their glory and discarded equipment like some fanatical bottom-feeder, Kruber was somewhere in Bretonnia when he came across the jackpot: a lone, freshly-killed grail knight surrounded by dead foes and with all their gear relatively intact.
Feeling it a tremendous waste to let all the poor bastard's shiny kit go to waste, Kruber decides to take up the dead knight's arms and armour, intending to sell them for a good amount of crowns when he returns to Empire lands. Something along the way, a woman's voice in his head convinced him to wear the pilfered gear to battle, however, and as time passed, Kruber's new kit begins to influence his body and mind, making him stronger, bigger, faster, and more becoming of a chivalric knight of t...
Well, not to spoil things but, Hah gotcha. :D We'll speak more to this story soon
I feel like huge blocks of shitpost text might eventually annoy some people, though? Thank you, I'm glad it was a good read!
A good Wall of sh*tpost Text is what this sub thrives on honestly. I come for the feedback and stay for the memes, the art, the stories. This one was great.
RIP Ron.
Theyre abandoning VT2 and moving on to something else and in the mean time milking VT2 till they drain it to fund the third game or another IP. It was obvious that we wouldnt be getting any major updates after the winds of magic failure and the harsh community reaponse. Warhmmer community, both 40k and fantasy, are sadly very hard to please and get hyper agressive when theyre not content with what they get.
Dawn of war devs legit dropped the ip and ran away after non stop death threats, cyber bullying and lynching by the community, who didnt like dawn of war 3 and didnt give a chance to devs to fix it. Same kinda happened with VT2. Were lucky if they work on VT3 and not milk VT2 and abandon the IP for good tbh.
We're still very much on board the V2 boat here with big things planned, one announced and some unannounced.
Will pass it on
I actually can't disclose my sources.
Hedge wants to know your location
It does, I think they dropped it from VT2 to just shave down the title's length as it was a bit silly.
This is it yep, the name was getting preeetty long. We're still sadly* in the End Times.
*as in 'this ends badly' rather than a critique of AoS. I remain staunchly impartial on that. You'll never know.
The idea with these is they don't impact gameplay, but add a flavour variable to the maps you run. dusk or rain shouldn't obscure your vision but just set a new tone for a map, or part of.
Hey Hedge! Off topic for this thread, but do you have any idea if we'll see a double XP weekend again anytime soon? I've gotten some new friends into the game thanks to the COVID situation and that would really help players like them who are picking up the game for the first time during the lockdown.
I'll speak with the powers, maybe we can schedule one for Season 3 :)
Because the whole reason they introduced payed cosmetics was so they could create content like this for free right? Also locking content like this behind money in any game is bad, but in a game that is as stagnant and stale as vermintide is honestly just a poor move.
What we're trying to avoid is shipping paid content that splits players (see WOM). Choosing to use the Grail Knight doesn't restrict you from any lobbies or others from your lobby (unless they happen to be playing the Knight as well, as it works with Vanilla careers as well). These kinds of DLC will hopefully allow us to continue providing free content that would otherwise split the player base if paid for.
This is vermintide 1 right? looks like (from a very high level) the game is trying to launch on a very incompatible GPU (onboard most likely)
edit: Yep, your machine doesn't look like it has the guts to run Vermintide I'm afraid. The Intel(R) HD Graphics only supports DX10, whilst DX11 is a requirement. The CPU would also struggle with the game - the Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU B960 @ 2.20GHz just doesn't have the legs, sadly.
Minimum Requirements:
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8/8.1 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit*
- Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q9500 @ 2.83GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770 /w 1GB VRAM
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 30 GB available space
- Additional Notes: *WARNING: 32-bit OS is NOT officially supported at this time
