Must admit I’m stumped on this one. Could you try a ‘Selective Startup’ and see if the error persists?:

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
  3. On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
  4. Deselect ‘Load startup Items’
  5. Reboot your PC
  6. Launch Vermintide 2 as normal

Thank you for your detailed report!

To be resolved in our next patch.

:frowning: This is a very unfortunate situation, as all ‘Offline’ progress is stored locally to the console (unlike ‘Online’ progress which is stored to our servers). Once that save is deleted, we are sadly unable to recover it.

Truly, I wish we were able to help, but we simply have no access to your data to be able to restore it.

Sincerest apologies MalMal, I appreciate this is a very disappointing outcome.

Thanks for the report!

In the logs I can see a common occurence of

..._extensions/default_player_unit/buffs/buff_templates.lua:3228: attempt to get length of local 'server_buff_ids' (a nil value)<>

This is a known issue and will be remedied in our next hotfix.

Sorry for any inconvenience!

That’s understandable. 472.12 appears to be available on Advanced Driver Search | NVIDIA which dates back to September, which could be worth a shot should you change your mind.

Thank you for your report and apologies for the inconvenience, we’re looking in to this now.

Hm, so we have a theory that your Disable Chat user setting is being forced to True for some reason.

Could you please send us your ‘user_settings.config’ file?

To do so:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% and select the ‘OK’ button
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2
  4. Copy and send the file to us

Thanks!

Hey @Vormar.Mishap

That is incredibly strange! Could you please provide us with your most recent Console Log?

We’ll have to dig a little deeper, as it’s possible something odd is happening and disabling your chat somehow.

To do so:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names
  5. Upload* the appropriate console log to us

Thank you in advance

This looks like more of a GPU-related issue, could you try updating your drivers? They’re dated back to August.

I appreciate your detailed, well-written post, and your calmness despite the irritating circumstances!

I have added this to our database for investigation.

This sounds very similar to an issue being reported on PC, which is currently under investigation. I’ve added your experience to the internal report.

Hi @Vormar.Mishap

Sorry for the delayed response.

There are a couple of things worth trying here -

  1. Try opening the Chat by pressing on the numpad Enter that is hard bound to send a chat message
  2. Instead of rebinding manually, press the ‘Default’ button, which will reset all the keybinds to default.

This should help us to determine if the keybinds are wonky, or if there’s a deeper issue with chat that we’ll need to investigate.

Could you both check what your NAT Type is, please? I believe this can be done on both the PS4 and 5 by navigating to Settings > Network > View Connection Status . The NAT Type should be listed at the bottom of the page.
