We are currently in the process of deploying hotfixes (some of which have already gone live) to bring about the following groups of changes to the Mage Tower portion of Legion Timewalking:

• The Mage Tower will remain open for play for an additional two weeks beyond the originally scheduled two weeks.
  • This will be in addition to all other events already scheduled on the calendar.
  • The Mage Tower will now close with maintenance the first week in January 2022.
  • The in-game calendar will not reflect this change until it is updated at a later date.
• We intend to make several targeted adjustments and bugfixes to enchants, gems from Burning Crusade Heroic Dungeons, and trinkets that come from Legion Timewalking.
  • Some of these changes have already gone live, such as the adjustments to the Endless Tincture of Renewed Combat and the Crusader weapon enchantment.

Hello!

We’ve been reading the discussions around collecting conduits on newly leveled 60 characters and we do agree that finding the conduits that you’re searching for can be tricky. To make the search easier, we’ve started designing an item called Incense of Infinity that level 60 characters can use at their covenant’s Forge of Bonds to learn all conduits and increase the item level of all conduits to 200.

We’re planning to add this bind-on-account item to 9.1.5, the live game, in the next couple of weeks. We’ll make note of it in our hotfixes update post when it’s available. Once it’s in gam...

Just want to be clear-- the “post-nerf” versions of the encounters unlocking with the next raid reset are the fights as they existed in Original Burning Crusade version 2.4.3.

We’ve gotten a lot of useful data so far, and we need to work through it and fix some issues that have come up, so we’re going to shut down the 2.5.3 PTR at 4:00 p.m. PST today.

We expect to bring it back up for further testing next week.

While it’s not inappropriate at all, on balance I think it’s much more productive in the PTR forum, since that’s where the designers and QA and engineers who are currently working on the next patch are looking for this kind of feedback in the first place.

I’m coming up on 11 years as a Community Manager here, and I’ve played WoW almost exclusively as a healer since the first time I stepped foot in Warsong Gulch in 2005 and found myself desperately wishing that someone would heal me. Fortunately I was playing a Paladin at the time and I learned that it was easy to switch my focus, which led directly to being pulled into my first raiding guild. With the launch of Burning Crusade, I started a new priest on Earthen Ring and that is still my main to this day.

I can honestly say that I enjoy every kind of WoW gameplay and over the years I’ve constantly invested in them all as a player: group/guild play, questing and world exploration, economy, and solo activities such as pet battles and collections. That diversity of interactions with the game entertains me greatly and, since I’m a communicator by trade, it has given me a ton of shared experiences to talk about with other players.

Dungeons and Raids

• Timewalking
  • Mage Tower
    • The Legionfall Commander buff is no longer incorrectly applied inside the tower.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the Endless Tincture of Renewed Combat trinket to provide significantly more healing than intended, when defeating multiple enemies.
      • Developers’ note: While we want to be as permissive as possible with gear choices in the Mage Tower challenge, this trinket was too powerful to leave unadjusted.
    • Fixed a scaling bug with the Crusader weapon enchantment, it should now scale like other similar enchantments.
    • Fixed an issue where Karam Magespear could fail to summon Hands from Beyond during the Thwarting the Twins encounter.

Please be reminded that all bosses in Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye will be adjusted to their final “nerfed” state with the weekly reset in each region next week.

Additionally, the requirement for attunements for those raids will be lifted at that time.

CREATE A PTR ACCOUNT:

• Log in to Blizzard Account Management.
• Select Games and Subscriptions.
• In the Starter Editions & Public Test Regions section, select Create PTR Account.
• Click the Create Account button.

JOIN THE PTR:

• Open the Blizzard Battle.net App and select World of Warcraft Classic from your Games list.
• In the selector above the Play button, change your Region / Account to Public Test Realm (Classic).

New Content Testing

• The Black Temple and The Battle for Mount Hyjal Raids are available for testing on the PTR.
  • You can find Donjon Rade Jr. in Shattrath near Khadgar. Donjon will provide teleport services to the dungeons.
  • A plethora of vendors are available and selling gear, consumables, as well as other supplies and sundries to help you test.
• The Netherwing Reputation quests and dailies are available for testing on PTR.

User Interface

• You can now select multiple activities when searching for groups in the Looking for More UI.
• After listing your group in the Looking for Group UI, the UI will now automatically search for other groups interested in the same activities.
• In the Looking for Group UI, the entire dropdown body can now be clicked to open the dropdown.

    • Death and Decay will no longer grant the Death’s Due on-hit effects for Night Fae Death Knights.
    • Fixed an issue that allowed Survival Hunters to trivialize the Xylem encounter.

    • Players can now have more than one instance of Infernal Core active.

Items and Rewards

• Legion equipment sold during Timewalking no longer requires level 60 to purchase.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your ongoing feedback about the Mage Tower.

We are currently evaluating the data regarding Mage Tower success rates, and we have identified that some of the challenges for certain specializations are more difficult than intended. We will return once we have more information to provide on what changes we have planned to bring those specializations more in line with the rest.

We’re now one month into the 9.1.5 patch, and while we expect that Council members may wish to start focused threads on single topics related to the live game, we wanted to start a thread here for your general thoughts.
