Player versus Player [with scheduled weekly maintenance]

  • Disintegrate damage increased by 33% in PvP combat (was 20%).
  • Developers’ notes: Devastation’s killing power outside of cooldowns is lower than we’d like, so we’re increasing Disintegrate damage further to help Devastation in PvP. In future patches, we would like to further expand on this effort and move damage out of Dragonrage and into other areas.

    • Penance healing is increased by 35% in PvP combat (was 15%).

WoW Classic Era

• [With Realm Restarts] Fixed a bug affecting bonus Honor awarded for Alterac Valley.
• Completing “Fish in a Bucket” no longer rewards gold.
  • Developers’ notes: This change was originally made in patch 2.0.10 and works well in Classic Era/Hardcore, as the original quest provided an uncontested, single-faction, infinitely repeatable, low risk gold reward that does not comport with the nature of the rest of the game.

• Adjusted Gold and Silver times for the Flashfrost Flyover Reverse Challenge race. These were inadvertently set too high.

  • Engineers can now purchase Sprocket Containers from Hobart Grapplehammer in Legion Dalaran at a cost of 50 Leystone and 10 Felslate each.

• Fixed a bug that caused Zaqali Elders’ loot to drop at a lower item level than intended.

With scheduled weekly maintenance (on September 19 in this region), we intend to make the following tuning adjustments for Player versus Player activities.

Player versus Player

Evoker

• Disintegrate damage increased by 33% in PvP combat (was 20%).

Random Dungeon Finder will be re-enabled for testing over the next couple of hours.

Please note that in order to resume testing it, you’ll have to log out of the PTR and update your game client after the fix goes out. Testers who stay logged in from before the fix is deployed will not be able to queue for dungeons.

Icecrown Citadel Testing

As with the last round of raid testing, all bosses and wings of Icecrown Citadel are available on both Normal and Heroic difficulties in 10 and 25 player raid sizes. The raid will become available today (September 15) at 2:00 p.m. PDT and will remain available until Wednesday (September 20) at 11:00 a.m. PDT.

ICC Bug Fixes and Adjustments

• The doors leading into Icecrown Citadel are now open and players should be able to zone in normally once the raid unlocks.
• The Volatile Experiments in the Professor Putricide encounter should now properly create Gas Clouds.

In order to deal with a critical bug, we’ve disabled Random Dungeon Finder functionality on the 3.4.3 PTR.

We’ll let you know when we’ve got a fix for it in place.

Not today. Maybe someday again. You never know.

Lots of people are still doing them and they’ll still be there for you. The only thing you can’t get anymore is the Feat of Strength (which doesn’t add to your Achievement points anyway.)

With a hotfix, we’ve just made the following update on all Classic Era realms, including Hardcore realms:

• Completing “Fish in a Bucket” no longer rewards gold.

This change was originally made in patch 2.0.10 and works well in Classic Era/Hardcore, as the original quest provided an uncontested, single-faction, infinitely repeatable, low risk gold reward that does not comport with the nature of the rest of the game.

We’ll continue to monitor for situations like this one and if necessary, we’ll take further steps to promote player interactions and Classic gameplay.

Thanks to everyone who have shared their thoughts so far on Battleground Blitz. We’ve seen a lot of feedback here and elsewhere that we’d like to respond to and hopefully provide some additional information about the game mode for clarity.

Arathi Basin and Deepwind Gorge

As indicated in a screenshot in the initial preview, there are objective timers for these maps to indicate when bases will be reset and this functionality is implemented on PTR. Currently, these timers are located under “Objectives”, which may be initially minimized for some players. Placing them under objectives will allow players to utilize Edit Mode and move them on their UI as best fits.

• On the secret day starting with “They Are Always Listening”, you should now get the quest “A Complete Inventory” from Fangli Hoot if you do not get it automatically by investigating all 6 notes.
• Updated some of the quests to address issues where players could fail to receive a clue because secrets had been started on different characters.
