A few questions:
Have you used your coal for anything else previously?
Do you have a collection that you need some parts of?
My suggestion would be to build up your coal until you know what you want to get with it. You don't have to spend it and it will keep accumulating while you play the game. There are many different items you can get in the armory including: ships, flags and containers.
The players on the forums will also be glad to help give you suggestions but in the end it is your coal to spend =).

Commander Skills!
Hey Captains,
The next topic we will cover in the guide is the all important Commander Skills! Players have questions everyday regarding captain skills and this is a good thing! This is a great topic that we can all have some input on and give suggestions to our fellow players that might help them improve their choices in commander skills. We will also cover Elite captain XP and what it is used for. We will also cover re-training of commanders and what is the best method to use when you are moving captains to a different ship. We also put a "cross" across skills that are not recommended for that ship class.
We will cover only the skills that are relevant to surface ships in this guide. A Separate CV guide will be coming in the future.

Yes, Lazo will remain available for allowance tokens until 8.5 release. You will however, not be able to gain allowance tokens after the release of 8.4

While we appreciate the enthusiasm, we ask that you do not start informal AMAs. We will see what we can do about an opportunity for players to ask questions to Sub but this is not the right way to go about it.
Regarding your current questions:
1- We consistently monitor balance within the game and performance of ship nations and classes. When we notice there are lines/ships under-performing in comparison to others of same tier/type we do dive into them and determine if there is ground to address the ships in question. We do not share these investigations/plans ahead of time, when we decide to address a ship you will hear about officially in the Dev blog that can be found in a variety of places including here on the forums.

No changes have been made to the Hidenburg recently so rest assured it's performing as it has been.

The Monaghan has always had two different hull options since release:
A Hull (standard hull) - 4x1 127mm guns and the 6.4km torpedoes like the Farragut.
B Hull (upgraded hull) - 2x1 127mm guns (2 are removed and replaced with more AA). You also get to mount the 2x5 configuration "Benson" torpedoes. These torpedoes have 9.2km range and more damage but go 55 knots.
These 2 hulls have been the options on the Monaghan since release.

We've seen a variety of skill shown in both co-op and scenarios and we need to find the balance that works for all groups. While you may notice the AI can think a little quicker, the average success rate for co-op is incredibly high. The bots just don't simulate a human or the general skill you'd see in Random. What I'd ask is after we add them on PTS, please try them out and let us know. We'll be able to tell pretty quickly if they are too strong.
