@SpirantCrayon22 - If you are experiencing longer-than-expected load times, please advise us of this in a more appropriate thread. We are investigating reported issues with long load times on multiple platforms, predominantly PS4 and PS5, at the moment. Thank you!
@lemmie88 - The game will check for add-ons regardless of how many are owned, in order to verify the content you are entitled to have access to (particularly any cross-platform entitlements). I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this, and would be happy to pass forward any feedback you have relating to the time spent checking for the add-ons, or else any other factors you'd like to raise (such as when the check is performed). Thanks!
@archsh3riff - From personal experience, many of my games check for add-ons at start-up, though not all have a dedicated screen for doing so as in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It may be that you notice this process more in Valhalla due to it having a dedicated screen for this process at start-up, and if so, I'd be happy to forward any feedback you have on this to the development team for consideration in future games (such as to perform the check in the background during the opening logos if that would be possible, for instance).
The process of checking for the add-ons is not something that we have any control over, nor can be prevented, as it is a mandatory part of the launch procedure for the game. Particularly as my colleague @Ubi-TheBerry mentioned, if any content is being shared between accounts on a console for instance, the licenses will require verification before the content can be used by an account that does not own it directly. I'm happy to forward any specific feedback that you'd like to provide, or any suggestions on how the process could be made more user-friendly and less intrusive.
Thank you.
