Hello players of Albion,

I would like to introduce you to all the upcoming changes for Season 16. We are completely overhauling castles, with new layouts and treasure chests spawning through the entire week. And we are also adding an additional 5v5 non-lethal Crystal League, which in conjunction with the new Crystal Arena should lower the entry barrier for Crystal League and bring in more players.

Castle / Castle Outpost Overhaul
For Season 16 we overhauled Castles completely, and vastly improved the Castle visuals in two entirely new layouts. And Castles now spawn high value chests throughout the entire week. Every 3 hours, every Castle and Castle Outpost has a chance to spawn a chest. This chest has a random value, which is broadcast globally one hour before it can be opened. Since all these spawns still stay synchronized, the largest power blocks can’t contest all chests without splitting up, which also allows mid-sized guilds to contes... Read more

There is some good news concerning the requirements for HQ qualification.

The following will apply With Patch 1 of the Lands Awakened Update (Patch 1 will go live approximately 2-3 weeks after the Launch of the actual Lands Awakened Update, specifics will be announced as we approach that date more closely):

With this Patch there will be two major changes to the Headquarters qualification requirements:
  • The Top 600 Season rank requirement is removed
  • A Headquarters can now be declared immediately after the necessary Season Point requirement has been reached

Hello everyone,


If you have started the test server since the new update got deployed there, you might be unable to enter yellow, red, or black zones on the live server.

This bug happens if you disabled the popup notifications for the respective zone types on staging.


How to fix it:

Go to your settings (on live) -> Notifications

1. Find the "Entering a (type) Zone" notification for the respective zone and click on the x next to it

2. If that doesn't fix it for you, then reset your notifications settings. You can find that option at the bottom right.

As announced in our latest Dev Talk, the Into the Fray update is coming soon, bringing an overhaul of Magic Staffs, new Portal Towns, big changes to Castles, a new Crystal Arena and knockdown Crystal League, and much more. And now you can try it out for yourself on the Albion Online Staging Server! In order to help us get feedback about this release and see how the new features perform with larger player numbers, we encourage you to log into the Staging server and try out the new features.

NOTE: As is always the case with Staging releases, all features should be considered "In Progress" and may be altered, reworked, or removed with the actual update launch.

With the upcoming standalone season, we will introduce Disarray, a Zerg Debuff mechanic. The idea here is to create a trade-off for bringing massive amounts of players. This way we want to encourage players to have more fights with smaller and better organized groups, instead of over-emphasising the sheer amount of players alone.

How this works
  • If 25 players or more of the same alliance are in the same cluster they all get a debuff: Disarray
  • This debuff reduces: Bonus Damage vs Players & Bonus Defense vs Players
  • The more players the alliance has in the cluster the stronger becomes the Disarray debuff
  • This feature will be launched with the upcoming event season
  • The debuff only applies to guilds / alliances. Groups of blue players on Royals or faction flagged players are not affected.
