Hello,
I have the worst problem with anno 1800...
Since the last update I have not been able to play the game at all. The game will load into a black screen with the anno cursor...
Below are the steps I have already tested with no luck.
Any tips ?

Reinstalled the game.
Reinstalled uplay/ also made sure it was on the same drive as anno 1800.
Reinstalled windows.
Updated all drivers and BIOS.
Updated Windows.
Altered the INI file to boot with DirectX 11 and 12.
Deleted the INI file so it would have to create one on boot.
Verified all of the file's multiple times.
Tried to Boot in offline mode.
Tried to boot the game with admin privileges.

Computer spec:
Cpu: Intel core i9 9980XE
MB:Rog rampage VI extreme omega
Ram: 64gb Kingstone DDR4
Gpu: NVIDIA Rtx 2070 Super

Hey @dempadennis, thanks for reaching out, welcome to forums and sorry to hear about the issue you ran into, as I fully appreciate how frustrating it might be to deal with this after such an extensive troubleshooting.

As it stands, I can confirm that we have received a number of contacts from players who are dealing with the exact same issue and as @AW7777777 stated, it does seem to be related to processor as this is one of the things that are in common between the ones that are affected.

As far as investigation goes, currently, we do not have any updates just yet I'm afraid, however as soon as we do, details will be posted here, in our official forums, so keep an eye and apologies for any inconvenience this may cause for the time being.

Should you have any further queries, let us know!

Hey there.

Sorry to hear you have encountered this issue.

Have you tried any of the workarounds suggested in the thread you linked above? I'm specifically referencing the post by AW7777777. This has worked for some players as a temporary workaround whilst we're working on a permanent fix. I understand however this isn't an ideal solution so it's entirely up to you whether you decide to try this or not.

I can see you have asked for your case to be added to the ongoing investigation on this other thread as well. The team does not require any more log/system files for this issue as they're confident of being able to fix this with an upcoming patch. As soon as we have any details on this upcoming patch they'll be shared to the news and announcements section of the forum.

Thanks.

Hello Ofiros_da_king, thanks for letting us know you have been able to use the workaround of limiting cores/disabling hyperthreading in order to play the game, after the latest update.

This issue is something our Anno team is still looking into. We believe we have been able to fix this for certain Intel CPU's but not all yet, so the investigation continues.

Hey there @marvicius, glad to hear that it helped you. As mentioned by my colleague, this is something our teams are aware of, and we believe our teams have been able to fix this for certain Intel CPU's, but not all of them. Our investigations are ongoing. If you have any further questions or you experience any other issues, please do not hesitate to reach back out.

Hey there @zanaszeriel ,

Thank you for getting in touch.

May we please know more about your experience here?

Does the game fail to launch?

What are you changing in the game's .ini file?

Have you already attempted these troubleshooting steps and verifying the game's files?

Thank you!
