@nobodytocare Until that person is you. I'm sure you wouldn't be too happy if you were killed/banned and never had issues with meshing or people who mesh.
@ArkLife32 Does it matter if someone gets killed or banned and wasn't under the mesh? Yep
I can guarantee that there will be areas of the maps where someone is detected under the mesh but isn't. We have tons of data that can show that. I dont discourage this type of investigation - just giving the full picture.
@nobodytocare
What's important to ask is how many false positive's (incorrect reports of someone being undermeshed) does this plugin get? What maps was it tested on? What parts of the maps?
Just a heads up, when we talk about mesh detection, this is what we're talking about. It does not take automated action but we get the same information. As was said this doesn't prevent people from getting in the mesh - just detecting.
@PedjaDurdic I was talking with the QA team about this today. Nothing definitive to report yet.
@TRod_Planet @adam_brown84 Agreed. A good healthy convo all around
@TRod_Planet @adam_brown84
@Agestine77 Seattle headquarters 😁
@adam_brown84 @TRod_Planet This wasn't really directed at you but at people with mass amounts of hours. And yes I get the argument that hours don't always equal value. But we're kidding if it doesn't equal something.
@adam_brown84 @TRod_Planet That is a point I'll argue and continue to. Mostly because I work side by side with the people that "don't care about" ARK or "don't want to fix the game"
@adam_brown84 @TRod_Planet But I disagree with people that have 4k hours in the game and act like ARK had nothing to offer and is the worst game on the planet. Or act as if there have been no improvements at all.
@adam_brown84 @TRod_Planet Everybody looks for different things in a game. Having a background in development I'm more tolerant to bugs because I know the process. Some people aren't and are perfectly fine to feel that way.
@adam_brown84 @TRod_Planet For sure. I haven't tried to argue that point. You are justified to feel that way, I just wish you didn't.
@adam_brown84 @TRod_Planet That's unfortunate, and I mean that - not trying to be sarcastic
@adam_brown84 @TRod_Planet Weird, keys don't fit in the ignition yet it has 180k miles on it 😏.
@adam_brown84 @worldgate They were not designed to blow peoples dinos away in PVE - it was an oversight.
@adam_brown84 @worldgate These are things we need to keep in mind when designing in the future. These incidents, however unfortunate - gives is insight on how to design these better in the future and take PVE into consideration when designing.
@adam_brown84 @worldgate In a lot of ways, I have "yet to encounter" a game like ARK. I can't debate the issues. They exist, but ARK is a complex game with an evolving meta that can't always be understood when we design something. We didn't anticipate on people using Gasbags this way.
