@jeffrichey Exactly
What was done is amazing and whoever created it is talented. No hate! All I'm saying is before you see a 13min video and think it fixed meshing forever, check it out for yourself, ask questions, see it running on a server with lots of players, and not just read a YouTube title
@ArkLife32 Yep, we're trying to find that healthy balance. Nice chatting with you.
@IOIAGENT They might not have answers at the moment.
@pope74753354 Potentially. Typically we probably don't want people to know if our detection thinks they are in the mesh or not. That's the type of stuff cheaters use to try to break the system. But not a bad idea!
@ArkLife32 Here's the thing - people do want new dinos. But they want meshing fixed too. Also, the people that work on maps don't work on meshing typically - or the people that create the dino models, etc. They can't sit idle why they wait on programmers to fix meshing.
@ArkLife32 We just recently got some of the tools we need to ban on console (last patch). It's not something we previously ever done. So the number you are seeing now will be a lot different soon.
@IOIAGENT If I had those answers I would give them to you. They haven't been given to me, and yes I asked.
@IOIAGENT The development team is aware of the issues in the game. I sit right next to them and we meet daily. Some things take longer to fix than others. To say that we haven't fixed anything would be a lie. But yes meshing still needs attention.
@ArkLife32 Never saw anything in there about mesh detection? We can't spell out exactly how everything works. It's not productive to the cause. We are working towards fixing the main problem but to your point, it is not fixed.
@MrDolphin101 I didn't say it :)
@tiolobster @nobodytocare Right now we are playing catch up and getting rid of all the mesh bases - but eventually we will be caught up and able to address issues as they are happening (we have done some live cases).
@IOIAGENT You're asking me why its so hard to fix a game without understanding why it's hard or how to make games. It's not something I can explain to you. It's hard because sometimes things pop up in development that seem easy but are very complex.
@ArkLife32 Guess you've been missing the patch notes on meshing and the large waves of bans that have been happening. I can link the threads later if you're really interested and not trying to troll.
@ArkLife32 Again you're judging that from a 13 min video. Not testing this, not seeing it running on a server not even asking any questions. Easy to convince people these days.
@ArkLife32 We already have most of this implemented except auto action. And that's just a matter of refining the data and tweaking the measurements so we get less false reports.
@IOIAGENT You're essentially asking why is it so hard to make a game? That's a tough question man.
@nobodytocare Agreed - right now we feel like that number is too high to be acceptable. But the longer it runs - the more data we get to refine it so we can get to a number that is acceptable.
@ArkLife32 But you haven't even seen this in action or actually working. Not saying it doesn't but I would at least see if that's the case. And not judging from a 20 min YT video.
@ArkLife32 We'll get the last laugh. Hardware bans on console are tricky - but we're getting closer :)
