I just tried this on a 419.67 Nvidia drivers with GTX 1080 and I could not get the issue.
Can you let us know what drivers and GPU you are using please?

PUBG once did say the use of reshade, which is basically what this is, is classed as cheating or started banning people for it.
I've been using reshade in battlefield since bf3. Might still be able to find the tweet and comments from DICE saying it's not a banable offense.
