Remember: in some cases it might not make sense for us to open new servers. We've experimented with servers in Australia and Bahrain, and while both offered lower latencies for players, ultimately smaller player bases also resulted in slower matchmaking and a decline in players.

We will continue to improve our server infrastructure as global cloud providers are opening new regions around the world, especially outside the major hubs in North America, Europe and Asia.
We are constantly on the lookout to find new server regions and sites which improve the service for our players around the globe.
This specific site will improve latencies in the South West of the continent, while still offering fallback to Sao Paulo for faster matchmaking.
About a week ago we stealth-launched the latest server region for @BrawlStars:

Previously most players in LATAM played in Sao Paulo π§π· while some players in the north of the continent played in Miami πΊπΈ.

Last but not least I'd like to thank @elf3z and "the one who shall remain unnamed" for managing all of this. The complexity between a live show with 11/16 teams on site during COVID times plus running the new event platform was just insane. β€οΈ
One of my highlights was to see @Alvaro845 destroying his Twitch channel record. But there were ofc so many other people involved. π₯°
An event like this would be nothing without the amazing talent. For the main broadcast we had @OvileeMay, @Ark_BrawlStars, @fdotny, @TeddieCasts and @UberShouts bringing the heat and occasionally losing their vocal cords and around the globe many others supported our efforts.
