Please do a full **clean** re-install of Steam and game:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- exit the Steam app entirely
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folder
- run steam.exe to rebuild all that
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

Good luck!

I'm not a developer so i have even less idea about such things than you do, I'm afraid. What I can say is POPS is the Paradox online services, so that is probably to do with logging into your Paradox account.

It seems you feel this is a game bug, although why it would affect you but not all Linux users with the same libc versions I'm not sure. By all means start a new thread in Bug Reports and post the details of your problem there, plus any crash dumps or logs you see.

"vsync"={
version=0
enabled=yes
}

"refreshRate"={
version=0
value=144
}

Please disable Vsync and set that refresh rate cap to 60. Is that any better?

Are you sure it is Steam doing that? Could you be subscribed to it in mods.paradoxplaza.com ?

2023-12-11 11:16:09 [daemon] [ERROR] versions: downloading repo metadata: downloading repository metadata: Get ".asc": signing TTL received is too close to current time (threshold of 60 sec)
This error means your computer is not on good internet time, which confuses our servers. Go into the Date&Time control panel and make sure Set Time Automatically is ON. Then hit the Sync Now button.

Then run the game again, the launcher will probably update itself now.

Then try logging into your Paradox account in the launcher. If that works, can you get into MP in the game?

What if you run ck3.app and hoi4.app directly from Finder, do they work then?

My Ubuntu 22.04 installation has libc 2.35 and works fine, so it seems your problem is elsewhere.

Quite where I frankly have no idea at this point! Do you have access to any Linux support resources that could help tracking down that error?

Did you want to pursue that issue, or are you okay with GFN?

IF you do: Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Every time you run this game new copies of those logs will be made, even if it subsequently crashes .

Steam has an fps counter built in.

Using Bootcamp, are you saying? So under Windows? Because the Intel® HD Graphics 630 is supported there, and your Intel Iris Plus 655 ought to be better than that.

So you're all okay now, with that updated lib?

No obvious issues there. What fps do you see in the game before it crashes? Anything over 60?

From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

The stack trace points to libc.so.6 . If you run ./ck3 directly from a terminal command line (in the Steam/ck3/binaries folder) what output do you get?

Is libc up to date? What distro are you on?

Also, is your Steam installation via Flatpack or anything like that? If so you need to use the problem Steam client

Looks like you didn't make the changes I suggested:
"vsync"={
version=0
enabled=yes
}

"setting_framerate_cap"={
version=0
value="off"
}
Please do ALL these changes:
Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

AND the dxdiag is incomplete - you probably hit Save All Info to soon. Wait for the green load bar to finish before you d... Read more
