Alright, that's where local saved games should go. Do you see them there okay, plus the game's settings files etc?

I see in your launcher screenshot above you are not logged into our launcher. Can you log in to it okay?

Right click on Documents in the left column of File Explorer, just under This PC there. Go to properties, location. What does it say there?

Bramaqueen said: I installed the older patch and it works again but i can't play the Persia DLC.
So this is the end of the road for my macbook pro and CK3. :)
Kind of dumb.
I am sorry about that. But it's basically down to good luck that the game ever worked on Intel video on Macs, as that hardware was never supported since the game's release.

This will NOT be the same problem as your hardware is completely different to the OP's.

Please start your own new thread, with full problem details and history. Thanks.

This game uses the Nakama MP service, and those are not known problems with it.

Your friend's issue seems confined to them, is that right? You don't get that particular problem? They should run up a VPN if they have one, before starting the game. If that helps, they probably have a firewall or ISP problem.

You could try the same for your issues too!

If those saves are from the 1.10.x patches, you'll need to revert to that version in the steam betas tab for the game, to finish them. However that obtains whether local or cloud.

If howeverthey were started under 1.11.x then it can really only be they are so corrupted the game does not recognise them as valid saves.

That should absolutely not be the case, they ought to work the same regardless of where the save file sits. Has this always been the case... Read more

Windows is set up to store your user documents on OneDrive, which is MS's cloud service. That ought to work but needs OD to be running, and syncing perfectly, and you to be online.

If you did not want your documents to be stored up there you should reconfigure WIndows to sue the previous default of C:/users/{userName}/Documents .You'll probably find that will fix this problem.

All the best!

Does your Mac have an Intel video system? If so this game will no longer run on it I'm afraid! If that is the situation all you can do is revert to 1.10.2

That is not the best workaround for that situation, try this please:

Please open a new thread in Bug Reports - I can't move this one there as that forum has a form you need to fill out.

Sorry for this problem!

I don't know if those errors are related to your crash or not. Your hardware looks to be adequate for the game though.

We cannot help with modded games here so please disable ALL Mods while we work on this.

Do you now have a save that reliably shows this problem?

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

**File Locations on Mac OS X**
The executable and DLC folder are in Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Crusader Kings III/
To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .
The user files (settings.txt, error logs, saved games, gfx, mods) are in /Users/USER/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/ .

I'm not seeing any other such reports now. Is this still an issue for you?

I take it you mean Wards and Wardens, and that DLC does not show in our launcher - is that right?

Is the game now on 1.1.0.1 ?

If so Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

The 1603/1605 errors we see there are typically a previous other installation stuck, or a problem in the Windows update/install processes.

If you see msiexec OR Paradox Launcher running in Task manager-processes, kill it and try this launcher install again please.

If still no good, do you see Paradox Launcher v2 in the Windows Control Panel to uninstall? If so does it uninstall cleanly, or get an error doing that? You can use this MS tool to clear the stuck install/uninstall:

Fix problems that block programs from being installed or re...

CK3 uses the Nakama MP servers, whereas all those others use the Steam MP servers by default. EU4 and HOI4 can be told to use Nakama instead.

My point being the issue is not in the MP servers, it seems. Nor is it in the game code over that huge timespan! This is very likely to be some issue local to you, perhaps your network or ISP.

If you have a VPN try running that before starting these games, which will bypass any firewalls in the way.

Otherwise if you can try from another machine on this same network,OR this machine on another network, that would be a good test.

The reason is that launcher is installed when you first run the game. Nothing to do wth Steam.
