This is some very odd GPU behaviour. Are you only experiencing issues in Darktide? Have you tried playing anything else recently?

NVIDIA Control Panel → ‘Manage 3D settings’ → ‘Max Frame Rate’

We’ve noticed this occurs in cases when somebody’s Friends List on Xbox/Microsoft Store is quite large. Could that be the case for him?

I’ve queried this with our name validation service but with it being so late I can’t imagine any changes will be made this evening. You might have to use another name then perhaps I can manually change it for you at a later date.
