You know which ones I'm talking about. Now spill the beans.
I can confidently say they were not beans.

So on the topic of exotics, will they be getting more love in the update? Will the definition of it change or what would you call an exotic in the new update? Is it a very unique weapon tied to a specific behemoth with individual skills? Or because of this weapon overhaul will they just be like an ordinary weapon as you try to make each weapon unique?
Are they considered legendary now compared to other weapons, or something else?
Just really looking at the state of exotics and how they will fit into the future.
Exotic weapons are both getting updated and improved, and also setting the standards for all weapons. What were Exotic weapons will now just be weapons, as every weapon in the game should be close to what they provide in unique gameplay.
Not specifically weapon related, but I am asking how the neutral, umbral and radiant elemental effects could be applied. Do you see a way to add this?
Umbral could perhaps deal percentage of remaining health for example.
Radiant could maybe provide shield to slayers or arguably cooler, box in the behemoth.
And literally all I can think for neutral would be as a catalyst. It should maybe enhance the other elemental effects or boost how fast it takes to build up the effect.
Not ready to commit to these additional elemental procs yet, but we'd like to do them. Radiant and Umbral that is. No plans for anything Neutral related.

Likely no neutral
But we are planning to take a look at umbral and radiant. Currently, we don't have a solid design for them nailed down so can't commit to it fully. But the team wants it, and I reallly want it ;)
Since this is a AMA about the dev blog and not only weapon swaps then I will take the time to ask about the creatures you hid in one of the videos. What are they and what do they do?
There were creatures in one of the videos? Surely you just mean the Embermane, right?
Will both weapons effects be possible to activate at the same time.
E.g. The platforms for the terra embermane as well as the fountain thingy from frostwuif?
If so, how would this interact with the level 50 behemoths just as the chronovore and thrax.
This would allow for some sicckkk combos in my personal opinion, and give reason to switch between weapons. Managing the ability cooldowns between weapons would offer some new challenges.
Or, ya know. Balancing...
Some things will carry over, like the whirling blades summoned by a Kharabak UE for instance or the buff from the repeater drops. We are still balancing which exactly will carry over and which kinds of effects should be restricted to the weapon.
Creating cool new combos is exactly the idea though.
Any work being done in showing Behemot exact HP? in numbers? or maybe in 1/10 chunks at least.. Thanks
I'm curious how many players would like this. Once upon a time, there was no HP bar at all - not even the hearts. In some ways, that adds to "immersion" but in other ways, it's hard to know how much you're doing.
Would y'all like to see big boss health bars at the top of the screen?
And will anything else be coming in this update? Such as radiant and umbral elemental effects?
On the books, definitely we will be exploring them. If we can find a fun design for these, yes - personally, I don't think dauntless will be complete without them. ;)

As answered elsewhere, I'm looking at this on a case by case basis to determine what can and can't be used across weapons, ideally the end results should make logical sense and be clear to players.
I have a question please.....are you going to reset all the weapons? if so, What happens to all the players who have already reforged 20+ times? I have everything in my slayers path, it is 100% complete, is that changing? or just adding more stuff? because if all this is changing why not just make a Dauntless 2 ???? I'm concerned because I worked my player off good to get where she is at.
We are 100% taking time to plan how player's progression will carry over into any new systems. The Slayers Path bonuses from reforging will remain important. And the borders earned will remain / be earned in other ways. You will not log in to find you're back at level 1, but you also will likely not be at max level for every weapon, since the overall ceiling is being raised.
Each reforge will be honored and carried over in the new system -- how exactly, we'll be discussing the plan in an AMA like this much closer to the release.

No plans to show Behemoth health to this degree of specificity.
Will buffs from one weapon apply to the other like repeater atk speed or axe damage from determination stacks
This is being looked at case by case. Determination for example would only apply to the Axe, but throwing down the captain's grip repeater buff, and then swapping weapons and picking it up would give you that attack speed.
Because the weapons are getting revamped with new and potentially stronger abilities, will behemoths have to revamped as well to counter them like higher health or new abilities?
Like Charrogg for instance is weak to wound damage and others are more prone to stagger damage. Will behemoths have to be balanced to meet the match of this weapon overhaul?
Yes, Behemoths will get slightly stronger. put another way, we anticipate encounters to take slightly longer than they do now.
What is the button for the weapon swap for switch
We're going to wait a bit longer to talk about input changes as we figure these things out and make sure we get it all fit nicely on a controller. It's no surprise to anyone that it got a bit cramped, but we're looking at how we can make sure this integrates smoothly into your combat experience.
Will there be changes to mods and specials in this update. Some of them are really bad and underused and this seems like the perfect time to rework them.
oh yes
Is the weapon swapping going to be limited to only 2 weapons at a time or be able to switch between multiple, and will this feature be unlockable from the Slayer's path or available right out the gate? On top of this will we be able to switch to 2 different weapons of the same group but different types, such as switching between 2 different swords, or 2 different warpikes, opposed to only being able to switch to 2 different weapons
-Two weapons at a time, you have two weapon slots in your Loadout window.
-It will be unlocked likely via a quest and/or the Slayer's path.
-Yes you can equip two of the same class of weapon.

You'll have two weapons equipped at a time. And it will be unlocked in the slayer's path --- relatively early, but not so early to overwhelm new playesr.
Yes, 2 weapons of similar types is a-ok.

We'll share more about this as we get closer to it and firm up plans. We definitely plan to migrate players to these new systems as generously as we can, both rewarding all the time and energy you have put into the game, while still give you new things to work towards so you don't feel 'done and bored' when it hits. This is definitely a delicate thing to do, especially with the amount of progression we're changing, but we want to bias towards generosity, the time and energy you put into this matters.
I know roughly what the majority of the next update will be, but do you intend to introduce any proper side activities? Like I know housing will most likely never happen, but I do remember fishing almost being finished before all of a sudden being scrapped.
I just wonder if any kind of side activities like these will be implemented that have a bit of teeth to them. Slaying behemoths with different kinds of weapons and builds is fun, but eventually it does get boring. And that boredom only arrives quicker if there is nothing else to take our attention every now and then.
There is LOTS that we haven't talked about yet :D you don't know everything!
Side activities — potentially some, but most will still be related to hunting. What we are planning to focus on is making hunting more dynamic and exciting. Rather than load in, find behemoth, kill it, repeat. You may stumble across... a few other things that grab your attention ;)
Thank you. I have been fighting to keep this game alive and trying my best to entice new players to the game. But it's very hard somethings especially in the last year.
I'm very excited for everyone to dig in to what we're working on.
