Have you tried on a new save on version 1.35.5 or later? There might be some issues with the patch retroactively fixing old saves but anything from 1.35.5 onward should be working as intended.

Remember to have fun in the learning process :) Many players have hundreds or thousands of hours and still learn new things.

I can confirm this is a known issue with 1.35.4 and a hotfix is to be released soon.

Speaking personally, I really enjoy starting as OPMs and building up whether it's tall or wide.
I hardly ever do WC myself, and it's very true that it's only a vocal minority you see posting WC runs :)

Most likely sometime in June, it will depend on the scope of the testing for the changes.

We actually have more information about this patch coming out later today :)

A lot of good tips in this thread already, I think having a backround in other PDX games is a big help and might make things click easier. Even then everyone learns at their own pace so my personal advice is to play for fun and try to avoid a mindset of if you have "Done well".

I will shamelessly plug our player resources[pdxint.at] post as well, some of the resources there may be useful if you're trying to learn the game. Good luck and hope you can find some enjoyment out of the learning process itself :D

In my personal opinion It's not likely to come to EU4 the same way it did for CK3. Though we understand it's a very divisive topic within the community.
