Hello, Tyria, and happy Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure launch day! We are going to be keeping a close eye out for any problems you may run into, and I’ll be tracking them here for the first few days. As always, if you encounter an issue in the game, head to our bug reports subforum to report it. Keep an eye on our game update notes subforum for the latest game updates! Known Issues We are aware of a payment issue causing players to experience an "Error 108" message when making a purchase. We are working to solve this as soon as possible. (Resolved) We're currently experiencing an extremely high volume of users on EU worlds. We are working on increasing capacity as soon as possible. Players on EU worlds may experience connectivity issues for a short time. We will update you as soon as we've resolved the issue. The tooltips for essences in the Strength of the Unseen collection incorrectly state that players can purchase the items in the Wizard's Tower. Play... Read more

08/22/2023—Late Notes General You can now filter skins you have unlocked out of search results in the Trading Post. The unstable magical abilities Restorer and Propagator now grant barrier rather than healing. Propagator now applies protection instead of regeneration. Improved Equipment Warnings Equipment panel warnings have been significantly revamped to make it easier for players to determine whether their character's equipment is complete. Each equipment slot will display a red exclamation mark and a warning message in the tooltip when hovering over the slot under the following circumstances: A slot is missing equipment. Attributes have not been chosen for equipment with selectable attributes. Equipment does not have upgrades (runes and sigils). Equipment is below exotic quality. Upgrades are below superior tier. 08/22/2023—August 22 Release Notes Secrets of the Obscure With the end of the final dragon cycle, new threats and archaic secrets emerge from deep within the Mists to challenge Tyria. The Wizard's Tower has floated above the small hamlet of Garenhoff for generations—a silent sentinel watching over the town and its residents. With the tower's sudden disappearance—marked by the arrival of a mysterious group calling themselves the Astral Ward—rifts appear across the world, spilling out unfamiliar horrors. It seems I have been summoned, haha. I was out on vacation when this happened so I missed it!

If you're curious as to what I would have said though, it's that I'm most excited for folks to get to run around Amnytas and discover the culture of the Wizards, the secrets held in each Bastion, and the things they can do to help deal a major blow to the Kryptis in that area.

I was the map team lead for that map though, so I'm a bit biased.

Gathering nodes are exciting! For some of us at least.

In all seriousness, as someone else mentioned on this thread, it's more of a running joke than anything, and I am really excited about the WHOLE expansion. I was just a player a bit over a year ago, and getting to see an expansion launch from the dev side has been a wonderful experience. It's been nothing but a pleasure getting to work with this incredible team, they've done amazing work. I'm very much looking forward to Tuesday.

And also I hope you enjoy the gathering nodes.

With SotO's launch day just around the corner, all of us here at ArenaNet are counting the hours until we can welcome you to the newest expansion. I asked members of the development team to share what they are most excited for all of you to experience, and here's what a few of them had to say: Matthew Medina, Narrative Team: I can't wait for players to meet the members of the Astral Ward, especially my favorite new character, R'tchikk. She's a very unique skritt scout who is being voiced by the amazing Julie Nathanson, and I think you'll all fall in love with her as much as we on the dev team did.
