We’re replacing the skeletons used in Last Epoch!

The skeletons our Art Team are working on will not just look better than the dated models we currently use, they will also perform better due to having lower poly counts.

We’re creating new models for both summoned minions and enemies, so this will bring performance improvements when large numbers of skeletons are on the screen, regardless of whether they’re your army or the sinister forces of the Immortal Empire.

Hi @Sanctuarys_Reaper we’ve got the problem tracked down and it should be fixed for next patch. It actually probably is taking inputs but is just really shy about it. The visuals get stuck faded out and won’t fade back in. Restarting the client, while annoying, should fix it, at least temporarily.

Hi WhoopinOnYou, I’m sorry to hear you’re having this problem. We have a few updates for this area that should help with this issue next patch. It’s a really tough nut to crack but we’re optimistic. If this crash is consistent, can you bring up your memory usage on screen while you play to see if it’s capping out while playing. I also noticed that you’re installing it on your D drive, is that an SSD? We’ve had some issues with people who are playing on a platter drive. (long shot though)

@W4rM4ch1ne can you try turning damage numbers off and see if it helps? We just found a bunch of frames laying around in that system with large numbers of mobs.

It will be fixed in the next patch if this is the issue.

Hi Ferriun, sorry you’re having issues with this. We appreciate the report and are working to solve this issue as soon as we can. I hope I can put your mind at ease about the temperature though. Graphics cards are designed to run at much higher temperatures than 60 degrees C, so if you’re still in that range you aren’t in any danger of damaging your card from the heat. I know it’s probably way hotter than most games and we’re working to reduce that.

With new zones come new enemies! We’ve prepared previews of two enemies coming in Patch 0.7.8 which consist of lore snippets, design sheets, screenshots, and short videos.

The enemies featuring in today’s post are the Meruna Siren and the Winged Fire.

Unfortunately, we are still waiting on an update to our sound system that corrects the issue.

As we need to be able to QA patches prior to them being released, and Patch 0.7.8 is getting closer, it is starting to look possible that on Linux we’ll be going directly from 0.7.6c to 0.7.8.
