u/Reav3 loving everything you do, however why is there not justification why the Ahri ASU is taking so long when she was announced in the beginning of the year? With so many champions isn’t only 1 ASU and 1 VGU every one and a half to two years too slow?
One thing I think people don't fully understand about ASUs and VGUs is that we also have to rebuild ALL of their skins from scratch. Some champions have multiple Legendaries (Which take even longer and have a lot of unique animations) or even maybe a Ultimate skin like Udyr. Ahri has a MASSIVE amount of skins. They all need new models, vfx, and in some cases splash art as well. A New Champion, by contrast, only has a launch skin, so they take SIGNIFICANTLY less time then a ASU or VGU. VGUs in the past were done on champs with a lot less skins, many of which didn't even have legendary skins, so they were a lot faster to make.
I know a lot of people think, well Riot is a big successful company, so they can just hire massive teams and do them faster.
