Nope! This is not intentional!

It does look cool. But players often name their decks in a way that gives away competitive information (unless you're terrible at building decks like me, in which case it's "Imported Deck" all the way down).

So we're working on getting a fix out to you all ASAP. Sorry for the oof.

I was looking for general advice on common pitfalls to avoid, simple ways to increase rate of card acquisition etc.

With regards to things being out of date, one site that said it was talking about 1.0 economy for example stated the gem rewards for duplicate commons/rares were 25/75 but I thought I remembered getting 15/60 myself, is that right? What are the gem equivalents of duplicate epics or legendaries? Although I probably won't get any of those anytime soon since duplicate protection applies, correct? And it applies to cards of those rarities no matter what source you get them from, capsule, region reward track, vault, anything, right?

Do you earn gold in the game or is it only purchasable with money? I was a bit surprised at first since the 'industry standard' for free to play games seems to be to make gold the free to play currency and gems the premium currency.

Hey, sorry for the delay in getting back to you!

If you are looking for max efficiency, try and aim for a Level 10 Vault whenever you can. Levels 11+ still provide some solid rewards, but the reward efficiency is highest up til Level 10. Picking what Regions to get rewards from is a matter of what excites you, but if you are not sure what deck you want, consider taking each region to 4, then each to 8, 12, 16 etc because every 4th level in a Region is a bit more efficient in terms of the reward you get.

Regarding duplicates, the Shard values for extra copies are 15 (Common), 60 (Rare), 250 (Epic), and 750 (Champion).

Epics and Champions have duplicate protection whenever you get a random card from any source, which means you will always get an Epic or Champion that you don’t have 3x copies of before you get Shards instead. The way duplicate protection works is that we check any Set restrictions followed by Region restrictions.

For example...

these are great! as part of the design process, there's a constant feedback loop between our artists and our narrative and design team to make sure all of our art looks consistent, fits the lore, and conveys the appropriate feel for the design and mechanics of the card. There are many reasons art changes from one iteration to the next, but our artist partners have been great about making all our art both look great and fit into the larger story we're telling.

they're an awesome team of artists. if you go to their studio site, they have a gallery of most of their current staff. https://sixmorevodka.com/

Appreciate it. I love all the DMs no matter what. People are passionate and it's awesome to see.

I feel like this is my DMs everyday

I agree, I suggested that the Overwhelm icon should "pop" (similar to how Tough "pops") when it goes through a phantom blocker, since this is probably the single most common question on the forum. u/JeffExpress acknowledged the idea but I don't know if they have any specific plans.

Thumbs up! Thanks for shout out!

Hello - just poppin' in to say -- Please temper your expectations for the degree of change we make this patch :P Like I mentioned, we do believe folks will be excited about more frequent changes in general, but it's an experiment and won't be as big as a typical balance patch.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

We agree and we have improvements in the works for deckbuilder to support unique gauntlet deck rules in an upcoming release. (The same release with the much requested deck cover card art selector we hinted at in the Season of Fortune article: https://playruneterra.com/en-us/news/the-season-of-fortune/ ).

We didn't want to hold up letting players try some new formats until that work was done though. So while the interface is not ideal, thanks for bearing with it, and please let us know what you all think of the singleton format!

This should be fixed with 1.6!

Not Riot Exis, but according to our internal bug tracker this fix will land in 1.6.0 (so not next Tuesday's patch, but the patch two weeks after that)!

Hopefully you guys can take a look at it, I've explained what I experienced better there.

Great, thank you so much!

Ok thanks guys, guess I just got a bit unlucky then. Follow up question: I find a lot of articles about the ingame economy that seem to be out of date, can you recommend a source for info about the game that is updated with patches?

Yeah, overall ~20% of the quest pool is composed of 1500 XP quests, though the quests you actually get are true random so you can see some good or bad luck along the way. Re-rolls are always random too, though you can't roll another copy of a quest you already have.

RE: the economy, I don't have a link on hand to anything at the moment, but generally the economy has been the same since patch 1.0. Did you have any specific economy questions that I might be able to answer?

Your logic makes sense, it was probably related to the Deep quest then, the weird thing is that I've been playing since the open Beta and I play this game almost every day and in plenty of those games I had less than 15 cards and I never saw that Deep effect on me, I never used a Deep deck before, this is actually the first time I saw the Deep effect on me which is weird.

I guess the Deep effect got triggered on me because of the Deep quest then.

Hmm, I don't think it is likely the quest itself, but something else going on. The Deep quest listens to see if you are Deep (we track that status even if you have no Deep cards in your deck at the moment). But, if you could submit a bug ticket to Player Support that would be great!
