100% a bug and reported! We have a team looking into this
To fix the UI issue, you may need to restart the game (all the way to the desktop). I have it as a workaround that should fix the problem in the notice here
I’m not sure about the players freezing issue though, that needs to be more thoroughly investigated.
We are working hard to get closer to real time communication on current issues and to provide the status of all open issues.
John Smedley does not work on New World or in the New World studio.
We will evaluate if a second wave of free token is needed to help folks settle on their long term worlds. We won’t be making that determination this week.
From what I’ve been told, restarting the game should fix this issue (quitting all the way to the desktop, not just the main menu). Let me know if it doesn’t!
I totally understand the frustration. Expectations weren’t being met. Believe me, the Community Team wants to give you updates as much as you want to get them.
You can’t see it, but the team is constantly trying to get updates that are more substantial than “sorry, nothing yet” for you all. Being vitriolic towards staff doesn’t actually help either side.
Please endeavor to keep the community civil and to treat both staff and other community members with respect.

We understand that the new housing tax compensation pop-up is confusing, and we are working to get this resolved as soon as possible.
Please be aware that this bug is purely visual however, and no items or houses have been lost in relation to this prompt. Players who see the popup with missing text will still receive their 2k coin compensation, as expected.

No UI in or after Outpost Rush
Players can leave using the menu or get kicked out after 3 minutes when the instance is recycled. They can also restart the game to resolve the issue.
