A poll was released today, and it made a very questionable choice. I am not talking about the wording, but the way they went about the poll. Usually the default is no change and 75% support is needed to make a change. In the current poll that is not the case.

What and Why?

In a recent poll we were asked "Do you want A? B will happen as a result." A lot of players were fine with A but didn't want B. Both were polled in the same question and it passed with 86.6%. But a lot of players were still unhappy with this, so they polled B separately. Yet despite it being a change to how the game currently is, instead of needing 75% to be added, the poll was worded so that it needs 75% to not be added.

This is an extremely bad practice and goes against the polling system. We weren’t given a chance to vote for what we wanted. We were forced to vote for more than we wanted and given an unfair poll to keep existing behavior.

"If the commun...

We polled something not everyone was entirely happy about, but we weren’t in a position to bypass the poll system for what was favoured so highly by so many.

The only thought that was going through my mind when doing this poll question was that the previous question, which included the icons being bigger, had already passed a poll.

At that point we are obliged to add it as per its wording in the poll because the community wanted it - going against that would entirely undermine the polling process.

The only real option was to state “We know this passed, however, if you want we can change it before it’s added to this instead. If not, then it’s going to be as per what you initially voted on”.

That’s what the question aimed to do and there was no other intention other than to give the community the opportunity to decide what they’d prefer happen with it. It had to state that if it failed the previous would be implemented because it had already passed a p...

Well, I don't see the little "*" by warding so we have every right to assume the polls are rigged.

Typo or not, you really have to be cautious and double-check advertisements, or is this some dumb PR stunt?

As I said, it’s meant to say that, it quite clearly doesn’t however.

It was also raised but seems to have not been changed before going live, hence me now querying it. Hopefully it can get fixed ASAP :)

Well, being essentially forced to use this gear while rcing destroys the concept of fashionscape..

There’s meant to be text under the “Whoops” explaining how the last email sent had an error in it.

I raised it to the marketing team about 15 minutes after the emails went out (as I get them too) so they’re aware that text isn’t showing for everyone in this email and they’re looking to get it resolved ASAP.

Play a lot >> Presumably get reported by people when you ignore hundreds of randoms on your alts

get banned

Real money and time wasted.

I challenge you to use cball alts for 1 month without getting banned.

Most bans can be appealed

Implying that is usually fair game at Jagex?

Ha that's not how I intended it to be interpreted but I can see how it may read that way.

The worst part is that the subreddit mods decided to add a rule against these kinds of posts, even though this is the only reliable way of getting a hold of customer support to get any actual help.

I thought that stance was in relation to bans, not mutes.

Hi,

A long time ago I created a 2nd account to play OS on and try it out. I go by the name Silent Yak2 (iirc, its been very long, and I dont remember what it was before realising I was muted)

Long story short, upon creating the account, I ran it through the tutorial and went straight to the GE to trade over a bond. PMing a friend on the way, I realised none of my messages were going through and I had to use my main to chat. Turns out I was perm muted from the first login

As you can probably see from hiscores, my account is that of a typical player who started out rs3 with serious intent to play the game, and I have absolutely no reason to advertise websites, nor have I made any other accounts or advertised websites on the IP I log into now with my main which is still not muted.

I gave up hope, but not wanting to waste a bond, I decided I'd continue playing and communicate using my main, and emotes (yeah lmao right?) On my alt.

Well an honest and straight forward response incoming .....

You were auto muted by a heuristic designed to catch gold sellers and phishers who use private messaging channels. We've actually abandoned that heuristic for some time now as the false-positive levels were unacceptable.

I can also see that you have appealed the mute in the past and it has been denied. That was wrong, it should have been granted.

I'm not going to spin this - we incorrectly muted you (albeit with good intent) and incorrectly denied your subsequent appeals. I can only apologise for this poor experience and we have very clearly let you down and not provided the high levels of service quality we set ourselves (and that you rightly expect).

I have, of course, now removed the mute and I've added 3 months of membership to your account free of charge by way of a goodwill gesture for the unnecessary inconvenience you've been caused.

Enjoy having your voice back after all thes...

Mind if i pm you a friends rsn and maybe she can get her pmod back?

It was removed for inactivity due to going to college, i remember her telling me the msg that told her it was being removed told her to msg you guys when she was active again and she'd get it back. She's been active a year or so now and when she first returned tried msging/emailing and never got a response back. I suggested her tweet you guys, which she made a twitter and tried reaching out a couple times there and still heard nothing back.

I know she was down about it for awhile but would probably still love to have it back.

Sure thing, I'll take a look.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone that wished me well, made me laugh, and took the time to DM me with various gracious offers. I appreciate you all keeping me company. Im feeling better thanks to resting up, and I’m still quite amazed that I didn’t break anything (except the drivers windshield, if memory serves). My memory is pretty spotty of the event and the events that followed. I’ve been in touch with family and friends back home and I’m looking forward to sleeping in my bed.

Mod Gambit PMed me early yesterday and we exchanged discord info. We chatted for a bit. Later, Mod Nav wrote me asking me where I was staying. I figured someone was going to drop off merch since Gambit asked me if I preferred OS or RS3. Little did I know that Nav brought a crew along (My Airbnb hosts were quite surprised at what was happening). We all sat in the living room and chatted. Very nice lads and I’m super grateful for their visit alone. They went above and beyond and brought me a ...

Hi there. It's Mod Noodles from Player Support here. Firstly, I just wanted to confirm that neither of these accounts were recovered via our appeal system. I've investigated both the accounts you mentioned and it looks like they were both accessed by the same hijacker, whom had access to the registered email on both of the accounts, as well as your game log in details. I can see that you've since recovered them and enabled the authenticator, which is great! Regarding next steps, I'd go ahead and check out the articles and mute appeal link u/Lazy_Inferno provided if you haven't already. Hopefully this provides some clarity on how your accounts were compromised!
