What’s the point in this thread if you aren’t going to ask any of the questions Acorn?
When you did one a few weeks ago you just asked boring typical questions like; what is your day to day job like, what’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on, what’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced at Jagex etc.
These aren’t that interesting sorry, I think people would rather have questions answered from this thread so they can learn about upcoming changes, thoughts on fixing pieces of content etc.
I actually have currently 16 questions on my document from this Reddit thread and last Reddit thread. Sorry if your particular question was not asked on any of the recent livestreams.
I hope you reply, but the problem is I've tried to regain that secondary email multiple times but I cannot. I must have changed the password and forgot too many times to where google says it cannot prove I own it even though it is saved on MY COMPUTER just not signed in. I went to the RS recovery system and provided top info proving this is my account but it said session was invalid and I'm confused by that. I am going to try one more time but if there is any hope in god can you possibly message me privately (on reddit) about this so we can hopefully get this fixed. The secondary Gmail (which I can message privately and prove is mine) on googles end cannot be fixed. Tried over 6 times.... THIS SECOND EMAIL CAN BE PROVIDED
We got your recovery request just before 1am today and it is in a queue. I've had a quick '10 second' look and it seems quite strong, I would expect it to be granted but obviously the person who deals with it will take much longer over it and dig a little deeper into the claim. Right now recovery wait times are pretty good, there are a few hundred in front of you so I'd expect yours to be processed in about 4 hours from now, so you should hear back by early afternoon Tuesday 12 May UK time.

Unfortunately due to being on a remote livestream it's a little difficult to feature art on the weekly Q&As currently. However, we've been using player artwork submissions we see on social to post over the weekend across all our social channels so be on the look out!

Weird question, but could there be a way to hide Third Age/Gilded sections?(toggle?) They seem completely impossible to fill and kinda hurt the 'completionist' in people
The collection log was never made with the intention of completing it, it was made more to just show a record of what you had achieved, infact I believe that's why a variable for the total amount of slots filled was never setup when it was created.
It's certainly possible to have a toggle to remove those items but I'm not entirely sure how much dev work that would be and how much value that would add to the game. I hope that at least answers your question!
Lmao sometimes I wish I knew how to code just so I could understand not only how it's difficult to take a feature that is currently implemented in one way and just change it a bit.
But that it's so difficult that it's not even worth trying
So currently we don't store the data for how many slots the player has filled in the collection log on a single variable, if we did then it would be very easy for us to do.
Each item has it's own variable on the player for how many the player has obtained, when a tab is loaded it checks against a list of items we know are part of that tab and counts how many the player has has. For simplicity sake let's take the Chaos Druids tab as it's very small only having 3 pieces.
It will do the following:
counter for total items in this log is 3, so we know it's X/3
counter for total items the player has is 0
Get the first item (robe top) if the amount is >0 increment total items counter by 1 so it's 1/3
Repeat for robe bottom and hood.
Now you could ask why we don't just count all the individual variables everytime you open the log but the sheer number of them (1300-1400 ish iirc) would be quite an expensive piece of code to run every t...
