I'm glad to hear the rework and Mythic feats will be free! Does that mean the Archetypes, Spells, and any non-mythic feats added will require the DLC? I'll be buying it regardless but I'm sure many are curious.

Of course, the new archetypes are a part of DLC content along with everything that they include.

Thanks for much for the communication. What will change in the base game from this DLC? New archetypes I’ve read, correct?

New archetypes and spells for them, plus a new significantly sized quest and dungeon for the commander in Act V. At the same time we're releasing a big free patch together with the DLC, with a pack of new mythic feats (armor mythic feat among them, and not one but a whole array of different ones for different types of armor and shields), and some gorgeous new VFX for some of the spells that previously used placeholders or lacked them alltogether. For example, Blood kineticist now actually throws around blood.

Is there any possibility for playable Androids in this DLC or in the last one? like how Tieflings were added in Kingmaker's DLC?

Not in the plans right now, unfortunately.

Yes, DLC 5 is set to add 15 more archetypes to the main game along with new spells and feats. The 2.2 patch will also include Mythic Feats and the rework to Assassin for everyone, even if you didn't get the DLC.

For the Mythic options, I know they planned on making Mythic Armor feats at least. No clue on anything else that's dropping. If you search the subreddit you can find a couple confirmed archetypes and a few speculations.

Edit: Added distinction about the Patch and the DLC

Note that the new mythic feats and the assassin rework aren't a part of the DLC - they are a part of free 2.2 patch that will come simultaneously with the DLC.

That adds quite a bit more interest in Through the Ashes. Not being able to play with the mythic builds has kept me from playing it thus far, despite having purchased it.

Will Penta be available for the parts of Through the Ashes that are already out, or does she show up for the first time in the new material?

New material, of course. She joins you in the new part of the story.

Who knows! I, for once, would be excited to see it as a race too. But I understand it's a big investment.

Oh man…thanks for letting us know. But you know it’s been more than 1 year (since release) that we are talking about the blurry texture issue, right? I think it’s time to have a date for the definitive solution. Or just release an statement saying you won’t be solving it.

The port is a rather complicated task. I know it's annoying it takes so long, but there isn't much that can be done here :( Team's working as fast as they can. Judging by the progress, we're looking at 2024. I'm sorry.

Will consoles receive the same update to assassin's in November alongside steam?

Yup!

Wait, is Kingsmaker still being updated on consoles?

Kingmaker will not receive any further updates at all, PC or console. Studio no longer owns the rights for the game for a few years now. We've left our parent company back in 2019 and they remained with it.

Just nod with your head, Starrok, we will feel the answer...

Do you implemented new VFX for shadow spells, with the new archetype incoming? ^^

Have to check on that, but the blood kineticist is finally getting to make things bloody :)

Heavy Armor Mythic feat please? It's been years 👀

It's coming! And not just heavy, but for other types of armor and shields as well!

What? you actually redesign a class because it is unpopular and you want people to play it?

This is awesome. May I request Owlcat to do a survey to see which other Archetype people want to see upgraded?

I have a few:

  • Imitator - allow them to take Crane Style with only Dodge feat as tax. They already have IUS from Monk stance, why should they take IUS as a feat / background / monk dip?
  • Cavalier of the Paw - gives all Paizo's Order of the Paw feat to them, especially giant slayer.
  • Stonelord - Paizo's SL don't get spellcasting. So it is an Owlcat thing. But can you let them use WIS instead of CHA for spells? Better still, let them use Ranger's spell instead. Owh, and please replace the horse with either Boar or Bear! its okay to wait 2 levels to mount, compared to other classes that have to wait 7 levels.

Now, I go to pray and hope you can make this happen ;-P

p/s: I am looking forward to replay the assassin class...

This was a significant chunk of work and more of a special case because the class literally didn't work in Wrath of the Righteous environment. So please don't expect us to do a full overhaul of the game's classes :)

Please, tell me that the dedicated PS5 build is part of the DLC to fix the blurry textures

Hello! It's a separate update. Unfortunately it won't be ready by the launch of the DLC yet.

To the extent of requiring a new playthrough or just QoL upgrades that will help existing saves too?

A lot of bugfixes, rework for Assassin, a handful of new mythic feats (armor mythic feats included!), some new gorgeous VFX, some of them for spells and abilities that previously had none. And this is just the patch, not counting the DLC.
