This will undoubtedly force owlcats hand to bring in more players which usually never bodes well for the OG fans, ESPECIALLY with the type of games OC makes.

Or the budget can be simply increased proportionally :)

Also let's be honest about it, our games are a bit overstretched by the end chapters, and that's felt. Some reasonable (not dramatic) shortening in favour of more polishing, better release quality and reactivity (and more 'horizontal' mutually exclusive choices, which make the game more varied, but not longer) wouldn't hurt at all.

Imagine, for a moment, you could only ever make Inquisitor builds in Pathfinder. Any time you looked at a different class, people started screaming at you 'NO! YOU CAN'T MAKE A BARD OR A FIGHTER! YOU'RE KNOWN FOR INQUISITORS!' Sure, you could build some unique inquisitor builds with all the different feats available to you, but you see everyone around you showing off their Gendarme builds and you want to branch out.

Owlcat isn't currently working on Pathfinder games right now. But that doesn't mean they've burned that bridge. They want something new, to expand their purview beyond simply Pathfinder and Pathfinder only, and I can't blame them for that. Creative burnout can lead to some pretty bad games. I'd rather they leave for a time with that possibility of coming back than force themselves to keep making the same type of games over and over again and lose the passion they have.

This person knows what they are talking about. Listen to this person :)

-No Pathfinder, Starfinder, World of Darkness projects in development

-Future games will be fully voiced

-One new game will be UE5, will be more cinematic and will have a larger budget

-Other games may be traditional isometric CRPGs

-The games in development are NOT new IPs from Owlcat

-Potential Kingmaker/WOTR remaster to 2E ruleset in the future (Not confirmed, they aren’t sure whether to do it yet and even if they did that wouldn’t be a thing for atleast 3 years)

Just a quick note - a remaster of our older games, potentially with PF2E, is something that would be fun at some point in future, but there's no movement around it in any way right now. For now it's just an idea that may one day go further. Certainly not in the nearest ~3 years at least.

I'm not sure where this common misconception about us not liking PF2E comes from. Seems that it's from some very old interview by one specific developer, which is no longer relevant for years now. Things evolve and change, and there's definitely people who enjoy PF2E in the studio, too.

The realistic argument why PF1E would be more favorable in case of a hypothetical next PF project, is that there's so much mechanical content already made for PF1E in our games, that it'd be a huge waste to simply drop it all. And overhauling it would be... Costly, let's call it that.

But either way, nothing is set in stone on this.

We are not moving away from CRPGs :)

Hopefully Owlcat has had a sit-down with whoever is the cursed combination of obsessed with puzzles and also very bad at making them. hateot and enigma, just please, have an intervention with this person.

We've significantly reduced the amount of puzzles in our games as you can see by Rogue Trader. Polls clearly show mixed reception of zones with a lot of puzzles, and thus spending a lot of resources on them isn't worth it.

Or is there a developer response somewhere in them implying your suggestion that we're not getting much else?

A Dance of Masks release went extremely well. So much that it competes with the Last Sarkorians (the most popular DLC of all before Dance of Masks), despite being released a year later than them.

I don't think so. Paizo seems to be doing their best to absolutely shitcan starfinder 1e entirely so I can't imagine them paying to make a game of it so soon after announcing their official end of support forever for it. And I'm pretty sure Owlcat have said they don't like 2e. Also Starfinder 2e looks like an absolute dumpster fire and making a game of it this early would be a disaster.

Just wanted to correct a common misunderstanding of the process.

Unless done in-house, license owner doesn't pay for the games to be made. It's actually the opposite - usually they get paid for the use of their universe by the devs willing to make the game, be that a % from the sales, a one-time payment, or both.

Sad trend if true. We'll have Avowed also, when we should've had a third Pillars game imo. (set before Pillars 1 maybe, unrelated to the Watcher)

Oh well, so it goes.

Let's just say that's not the only project we're working on, and you'll definitely see more CRPGs from us :)

Golden dragon is getting a mechanical rework with many cool updates […] I do not lose hope for a bigger update, given the impressive reception of Devil.

It is being discussed right now. Chances are pretty good that it will happen.

One feature I would LOVE to see in your games is a way to build your own Auto Level Up paths where you go through the whole leveling up process and save the template so you can leave it on auto while you are playing.

This would be especially nice in the Rogue-like modes because you are leveling up once every 15 minutes there and doing the level up process for 6 characters every time distracts from the game play experience

Assessing how levelling experience can be improved is one of the reasons for this poll. What you mention sadly won't happen in Kingmaker and WotR, but it's not out of the field of possibilities for Rogue Trader and future games. I'm not making any promises or giving any ETAs yet, but we're researching what can be done in this direction.

We're doing a small research how our players usually approach the character building in our games. Let us know what you think!

Automatic level up includes pregens and recommended builds.

It's to the point where I have to relaunch the game every 2-3 hours because it becomes unplayable.

Would be grateful if you recorded and sent me the video how this looks like. The game definitely isn't supposed to lag on 4080.
