I'm not claiming it's your provider.

I've considered adding a Canadian gateway before, but the country is quite large. The highest density would have us put one around Toronto, which is geographically close to Washington DC anyway, with no improvement for players near the West Coast.

I have been looking into this. As far as we can tell, there are no problems with the Washington DC servers themselves. Going over the past few weeks of performance metrics, nothing seems amiss. At this point I think that this is likely a connectivity issue somewhere upstream from some of your providers, but before the connection hits our provider's network. Not sure where this is happening, so we'll continue investigating. Also, any MTR captures to the server IP you're connected to while experiencing lag spikes would be helpful in narrowing this down.

A new development year has begun, the holidays are over and our team is back at full capacity. With a busy year ahead, we wanted to give you an update on what the plan is for Path of Exile's development in 2020.

This year we will release four expansions (3.10.0 - 3.13.0) on our usual quarterly schedule. The first of these, 3.10.0, will probably be announced in late February. The timing of the expansions may vary by a week or two from last year's ones, as we work around various holidays/events and make sure that the bigger ones have enough time to be fully tested.

Development on 4.0.0 continues, with the team hard at work on content that wasn't shown in the ExileCon Act One Demo. We expect that the next time we'll show significantly new content and features will probably be in the middle of this year. Maybe around E3? We'll let you know once we have a firm plan locked in. One time on Extreme Home Makeover they were like, “HEY LIL GIRL WE HEARD YOU LIKE POLKA SO HERE IS WEIRD AL YANKOVICH IN YOUR ROOM” and they cut to all these high energy shots of him playing the accordion and she’s like, “I said I liked polka dots”. I still think about it.

I start back at work next week! Feels surreal to both be starting again and to have been away for so long! Five months feels like several years. I’m super ready though! We’ve adjusted to becoming parents and I also feel generally refreshed as a human. Bring on 2020!
