We're finishing the week with a talk by our senior visual effects artist, Ivan Leong. In his ExileCon presentation Ivan not only explained the role of VFX artists at GGG, but has also demonstrated creating an asset for the Crusader fight live on stage. Seriously, I do not buy the "old incinerate had performance issues" when so many of the mobs still use it and I never once saw FPS issues with old incinerate. It was just a skill that got overnerfed and that powercreep made irrelevant.

Please bring the original skill back, I miss it. It practically still exists but only on holy flame totem.

Almost no monsters use old incinerate. Lots of monsters (including the ones being discussed in this comment thread) use the non-totemified version of the Flame skill from Flame Totem, which looks superficially similar but is much simpler mechanically.

There’s so much low hanging fruit of basic QoL features they could crank out in a week of effort.

As someone said the other day. It’s one thing if your game is in depth and deep due to content or mechanic (that’s good!). But it’s a whole nother (bad) thing if it’s deep because of poor QoL or lacking basic features.

What simple/easy QoL features do you want to see? We're always interested to hear about easy ways to make the game feel a lot better.

I've updated the description for the Sextant modifier which adds packs of monsters that convert when killed to specify the amount of packs that are added. Just to make your life a bit easier, that one is consistent with the other modifiers that adds packs; 6 packs for Simple, 8 packs for Prime, 10 packs for Awakened.

I actually noticed a few days ago myself that there were no Master Missions coming from Awakened Sextants. That's been fixed up internally. It'll be patch noted when it goes live.

Balls are supposed to explode when you reach the cap, but now they are just despawning - this is a huge loss in DPS since we can quite easily hit the cap and despawn balls without dealing any damage

Not intended, they should be exploding. But this won't be fixed in 3.9.2b. Hopefully the next patch after.

In addition to a big 3.9.2 patch, which was deployed last week, the team has been working on another update with many improvements and fixes. We're planning to release it by the end of this working week on PC, and as soon as possible on consoles (after its release on PC).

As usual, we have prepared a preview of its patch notes beforehand, so you can get an idea of what to expect. Please note that the patch notes listed below may be changed prior to the release of the 3.9.2b update.
  • New instances of Tane's Laboratory can now be created by Ctrl + Clicking on the World Map Pin.
  • Monsters killed in Tane's Laboratory are now removed after a short delay.
  • Added additional quest information that displays when Watchstones drop.
  • Reduced the area of effect and damage of The Purifier's Weapon Throw.
  • Improved performance when using Arctic Breath supported by Traps, Mines or Totems against large group...

Our Frankfurt host is having some major issues. I'm currently following up with them to see what's wrong.
