Hey,

I'm sorry to hear you are being affected by this. It doesn't affect everyone but this is currently being investigated. One thing you could check is to just make sure the headset is set as the “Default Device” in the audio settings of Windows.

I apologize for the inconvenience Frost.Bae. Sound is obviously vital in a game like Siege. After checking that, I'd also check to verify your audio drivers are up to date. I'd also recommend disabling any extra background applications you may have running in the event of software conflicts. Let me know if that helps!

Hi Rarrier!

Sorry to hear you are losing sound in-game. Thanks for the videos.

To help us investigate, please answer the following questions:

- Please describe the audio issue you are having. (Example: Muffled gun audio, missing footsteps/gun audio, reverse audio)
- Does it happen on specific maps? What maps have you noticed these audio issues on?
- Do you use WiFi or LAN connection?
- Did you notice the issue only on the replay cam playback? Live in game? Or both in game and on the replay cam?
- What happened prior to the audio issue occurring? (Did you equip a certain weapon? Did you walk a certain way? Clips are helpful!)
- Can you describe your audio set-up? (Plugged in the monitor, plugged in the controller, using a home cinema system, set of speakers, etc)

Thanks!

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that!

Is the sound picked up during video recording?

If so, are you able to provide a video of this?

In the meantime, I recommend performing a clean installation of your sound drivers.

Hey xcel30

Thank you for the video and sorry to see this.

Would it be possible to share your audio settings setup with us please? It would also be useful to know whether this has ever happened before?

If when you restart the game this continues please try verifying the game files also to rule out any corrupted files

I tried a different pair of headphones and it was hard to tell because i have never played rb6 with those headphones before and the quality is not that great but i think it was as usual with the other pair of headphones.

I also looked through the steelseries engien (i have a pair of arctic 7 headphones) to see if that could interact with the game but i found nothing.

I also tried switching back to my old keyboard. I revently switched from a logitech keyboard to the steelseries apex 7 and I thought that as both of them are steelseries products maybe one of them affected the other one in some way but that did not help either, I had to update the steelseries engine in order for the keyboard to work as i should but i dont think that should affect the headset EQ or the audio as none of the settings have been changed for the headset.

The 7.1 surrond sound is OFF on my headphones because it sound like garbage but i tried turning it on and it made no difference on the sound so i would seem that the 7.1 surround sound function always is on when i play rb6 (even though it displays being turned off)

I found this problem only in one other game (minecraft) but otherwise the other sound whethere that be other games discord or youtube are normal.

This leads me to think there is something wrong with my steelseries program and not with rb6 as it also happened in minecraft but i cant find any other people having the same or similar problems/issues.

I will try and reach out to the steelseries support and see if I can find a fix for this and if I find a fix I'll post it here. If you think the steelseries engine isn't the problem and/or you have a fix let me know.

thanks for all the help!
I think in this case the best thing to do would be to ensure your audio drivers and settings are correct with steel series. If you are able to try a pair of headphones that doesn't use the steel series drivers this will also help to diagnose the route of this issue.

Keep us updated as we want to help where we can

Thank you for your responses everyone!

I will check the individual investigations and add your answers to them, to help the team. Alt tabbing especially is an interesting point, I'll make sure they know about that!
