Every time I re-launch my game every operator has their skins and background cards reset, gun skins and attachments stay equipped. How does Ubisoft mess this stuff up and is there anything I can do to stop it? This is just ridiculous the kind of things they always manage to break.

@krid_ Hey! Sorry to hear that your operator's skins, background cards and attachments are resetting after launch.

This issue is caused by a corrupted local save and can often be resolved by replacing it with a new save file.

In order to troubleshoot this, please do the following:

Please note that replacing the local save files will reset your Operator loadouts and Situation progress again but should stop it from happening again.

• Close the Ubisoft Connect application.
Open your system tray by clicking the little arrow located to the right of your taskbar and check that the client is not running in the background.
• Create a backup of the save folder by copying it to a safe location, then delete it.
You can find the folder in the following locations:

Ubisoft Connect
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\\635

• Start the Ubisoft Connect Desktop App in administrator mode and disable the cloud save option as well as the in-game overlay.
• Launch the game.
• Once in the game, customise an Operator's loadout and complete a Situation to allow an autosave to be created.
• Exit the game, and re-enable the cloud save and overlay options.
• Launch Rainbow Six: Siege again.

You should receive a prompt asking you which save you would like to use. Select the local save option - this will also update the cloud save.

If the issue continues after this please let us know.

Thank you.

Hello @Monkey-Spank, sorry to hear you have encountered this issue a few times now when launching the game.

We do not have a permanent fix for this issue, the skins reset because of a corrupted save file on your computer, but we recommend following our guide on this topic to resolve this issue temporarily > https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000061964

To help stop this issue from reappearing in the future, I also recommend doing the following >>

1. When the game is updating, make sure the update is not interrupted or its connection to the server, by closing down any other apps that you may be running in the background, on your PC or console

2. Disable any cloud save options you have enabled for the game, in your game launchers or consoles settings. Sometimes cloud saves can conflict with your local hard drive saves you may have and corrupt the file

3. (PC only) Make sure to make a backup copy of your local profile and save file routinely >

Hey @Elite_Mikey and welcome to the Ubisoft Discussions !

I understand you're also experiencing skin reset issues when launching R6S. Could you let us know if you've followed the troubleshooting steps previously provided on this thread? They've shown to have fix this issue for other players in your situation!

Hello @Lmqo thank you for your question.

If you have already disabled the cloud save function, or have never used it, this may be why you won't be prompted for which save you would like to use.

You can re-enable your cloud saves if you wish by following this guide which would probably restore your 'which save would you like to use?' prompt >

Our game progress is actually saved to your Ubisoft account so you shouldn't lose Operator progress by changing this setting, only your in-game settings for operator loadouts may be reset.

@MC_P_PANTS Hello! Apologies for the frustration this issue has caused. If you haven't yet, I'd suggest you create a support ticket so that our teams can help take a closer look into what could be causing your operator skins to reset. Thank you!

Hey @flowerpower6

If you use the local save file option by disabling the cloud in the Ubisoft Connect settings, try making a backup of your save folder somewhere like on your desktop, then if the issue happens again, you can just copy the save folder back into the folder where the game detects it.

You can find the folder in the following locations:

Ubisoft Connect or Epic Games Launcher
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\\635

Steam:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\\1843
