So r6 randomly freezes mid game (no blackscreen just the last frame is displayed), sound stops too. It won´t let me tab out, but it lets me to windows+tab and open desktop 2 where I can open the task manager and close the game. I heard this is a common problem, but I found no solution. Also when r6 freezes it is not displayed as "inactive" in the task manager. My PC specs are perfectly fine. I hope you can help me further, thanks in advance.

Hey there S.askas - welcome to the Ubisoft Forums!

I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced these issues in-game in Rainbow Six Siege. As the game is crashing in-game, and/or freezing as a static image, I'd like to ask that you first complete our basic PC troubleshooting steps. These will ensure that no common / basic issues are impacting your ability to play the game.

Do you experience any issues in other titles? Does your PC have a history of crashes, even if the hardware is sound?

If you have tried thePC troubleshooting"] PC troubleshooting steps and the issue persists could you please submit a support ticket and attach your system files (dxdiag and msinfo) and our Customer Support team will investigate this further for you.

Hi Psy.7Evan!

Sorry to hear you are also having freezing issues. What platform are you on? (PC, Xbox One, PS4)

Thanks!

Hello!

I appreciate it must be frustrating when you see the same issue being reported, and we are offering the same steps. Allow me to explain this from our perspective so we can discuss this better.

When we receive a report of an issue, sometimes it is very easy to see that this requires an immediate investigation due to it being an issue with the game. (E.g. A gadget doesn't work on certain surfaces).

Crashes, freezes and connectivity issues are the most common reports we receive, and the vast majority of them are resolved with troubleshooting. We can't always know if this is related to an in-game issue immediately, so we first troubleshoot then forward our findings to the development team.

I want to be clear that we don't repeat the same steps aimlessly. We only ensure the steps have been done by each player reporting the issue, so we can gather something conclusive to report back to the devs.

If we did not first troubleshoot a crash / freeze / connectivity issue before reporting it to the dev team, they would be given too much raw data and it wouldn't be clear if we had an issue on our side.

I hope that helps explain things, and I wish you all the best.

Hey bahadrop-top,

Thanks for reaching out and I am sorry to hear about this.

Could you possibly clarify whether your game still appears as running in Task Manager but stays at 0% CPU usage? Also, could you advise whether it's only affected if you're using Vulkan or does the same issue exist with DX too? Finally, are you possibly using Mirillis Action! screen recorder at all?

Let us know and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Thanks for getting back to us there!

Could you clarify if your game freezes on launch or does it happen whilst in-game? Also, can you advise us your system specs?

In the meantime, if you haven't already, give the following steps a go and see whether issue persists.

Can you try the "run as administrator" option when launching the vulkan .exe file?

Right clicking it and choosing "Properties" then go to the "Compatibility" tab and ticking the box to "run as administrator" option and clicking "apply".
